Church Members Mistreat Homeless Man in Church Unaware It Is Their Pastor in Disguise
(Excerpt) Read more at ireporterstv.co ...
It talks about elders and a minister.
Protestant church, in my opinion.
"I think the welfare state is God punishing His People for being selfish."
I agree. If even a quarter of those who claim to be Christian in this country had been walking the walk rather than just talking the talk there's no way massive Federal welfare would have ever been accepted.
Researched it on the net. It did happen several times-just not at that church. And no..I’m not surprised.
And I’m as bad as anyone.

Ok, this has been on my heart for a while. There is something wrong about Bennett. He not one of us. He is riding a wave for his own benefit.
I really don’t trust this guy.

[This is a hoax according to snopes.com]
Snopes does not call this a hoax. What they say is that the truth or not of this email is UNDETERMINED.
Excellent object lesson for his new flock! Hopefully, they were humbled rather than angry.
“as he quoted a Russian mathematician who wrote a book on Socialism who stated........even a little bit of socialism, rots the soul.”
Would you happen to know what book that is?
I agree. Jesus said his sheep would be indentifiable because they fed the hungry and clothed the naked...nothing about tossing a fiver to the guy holding a “will work for food” or “I need a beer and that’s the truth!” sign at the intersection. There are many ways to help people.
Many years ago, the church we were attending did a series of sermons around the *What Would Jesus Do* theme, IIRC.
Regardless, one Sunday, the first day of the series, during the week one of the church’s deacons let his beard grow out some and came into church that Sunday in his dirty old work clothes, to see how people would react.
Nobody recognized him and it was interesting to see the responses. A few people did reach out, but most didn’t.
Please... no doubt most of these folks are paying 10-25% of their hard earned income to support the govt and the poor.
No lesson here but deceit.
A pastor at my church during my college did this. Sat down in the pews and nobody did much of anything. Then at some point in the service got up and quoted some scriptures, and IIRC took off his beard, etc. I was fairly new at the time, so I wasn’t sure if the regulars knew it was him or not.
At that same church I was in the choir, and on a Good Friday got done with classes, mowed the lawn at the rental house, and rushed off to church without a shower or changing out of my ripped t-shirt, grubby pants, etc. Figured I would be wearing a robe anyways. When I saw everyone dressed up, and realized that we would be wearing robes I bowed out. But the choir director insisted that it didn’t matter and that I should sing. She finally got the pastor to convince me to sing. “God doesn’t care what you look like.”
Another time out-of-town I found myself in a small town in Wyoming, and after an old cowboy I had met up with bought me too many drinks I ended up sleeping it off in the back of my truck. Only to be awakened by the sound of church bells. I got out, ran some water over my face and went to church! There I was welcomed by all in spite of my “hung-over and slept in my clothes” appearance (I was). I imagine being a young college kid in a group of mainly senior citizens was also a plus, no matter my appearance. Even got invited to the church picnic at one of the member’s homes for some rare, home-cooked food!
Of course both of the those churches were small.
There is a “truck stop church” in Terrell, Tx and they won’t care either, obviously. Heck, baptisms take place in a horse trough.
I’d already been baptized but did it anyways.
How many people accept Snopes as gospel?
Probably about the same as accept Wikipedia as set in stone.
