Musings from the Holy Spirit

As I was preparing for a study of the Jewish Feasts Days, I happened across Leviticus 18:22-30 and the words grabbed me and held me there. I had read the verses before, but it seems I was just looking at the word "abomination" and thought it was unusual for God to describe that particular sin in a more forceful way, than say, "stealing". As I re read the verses, It caught my eye that God was giving the Jews the land because the people before them had committed sodomy before them. Then God warns the Jews that if they did the same, they would be "vomited out of the land" also.

I was shown there that sexual sin is treated differently than say, idolatry, lying, stealing, ect. Adultery and fornication is said to be a sin against our own flesh. We had just had a Wednesday night service that basically said all sin was the same, so we shouldn't boast that we are "better" than someone because we didn't sin as they did. Our sin must be paid for, just as theirs must be.

About the time Utah was overruled on their ban on gay marriage, they also had monogamy kicked down the road. I think that made them the 18th state to have legal gay marriage. I started to wonder what would God do when we get to 26 states that allow sodomy.

I don't think people realize just how serious this could be. The Jews were put into bondage for over 400 years because they refused to observe the Sabbaths properly.

A few weeks later, the Duck Dynasty kerfuffle happened and we now find out that quoting the Bible is now "hate speech" in America. The Talking Head morons said Phil said sodomites would turn to bestiality, which was a lie and only proves no one reads their Bible anymore, otherwise they would have been corrected on air.

Then the Holy Spirit lead me back to Romans 1, one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. If you look at verse 18 and beyond, we are clearly told that God will dispense His Wrath on those that suppress the Truth in unrighteousness. If that verse doesn't fit no prayer in school, get "God" off the money, those that call a baby a fetus, those that say sodomy is "love", and more. Now they misquote the Bible and call someone that quotes the Bible a "hater". As we get to verse 30 in Romans we see that those that approve of these things are as guilty as those that practice them.

Now if I hear "Judge not, lest ye be judged", one more time, I think I'll scream. We are COMMANDED to judge sin and FLEE from it. I cannot judge a human soul as our judge is in Heaven, but we all should recognize sin at a glance and turn from it. As Paul told the Corinthians in 1 Cor 5:1-7, he didn't even need to come there to know what to do with the sinner in their midst. They were proud that they were able to overlook sin in their own church. What does that tell the others in the church,..how about the children, what do they think sin means if it is just overlooked?

What I see is judgement is coming to America. God cannot allow open rebellion to go unpunished. A good case could be made that when Christians allowed Clinton to commit adultery and then lie under oath, 9-11 was just a couple of years after. We won every battle in Viet Nam, yet we lost the war. Could we connect that to Free love, drugs, and rock and roll back home? Remember the Time Magazine cover, "God is Dead"? What was going on back home was a complete breakdown of morals and we may have paid for it on the battlefield. If you stop to think a minute, a few men with box cutters killed more people in one day than the Japanese did at Pearl Harbor. Did God lift His hedge of protection for a moment to allow us to repent? If I remember correctly, we repented and attended church for at least a couple months before returning to our "dog vomit".

If you read the Old Testament as a history of God's people, you see good leadership= blessed nation, bad leadership= slavery and destruction. Why would it be different today? As we give our lives to Christ, we were "grafted in" or "adopted" into the family of God. I can't see why God's principles would change just because we are Gentiles. God will discipline His children to drive them to repent. The question is "How long before we repent?" I have NO DOUBT that if we do not repent, we will be defeated by evil people armed with sticks and swords even if we have nukes and invisible planes. We couldn't defeat 4 ft tall rice farmers in Viet Nam and we were attacked with a few men with box cutters. Anyone that believes we can win without God is fooling themselves. My father told me as a B-24 turret gunner that we shouldn't have won the war in Germany. They sent out 100 planes and 20 or less might return. He watched as thousands of men were put through a meat grinder daily and he thought we would run out of men and money. I believe we were on God's side in that war and we couldn't lose. Since then, The evidence shows we have turned from God and we believe God is on our side rather that the other way around. For God's blessing and hedge of protection, we must be on God's side and He will insure that His people, called by His name, will be forced to repent, and turn from evil, and He will hear from Heaven and heal our land. We have a choice and it must be made soon. We will choose sodomy and baby murder and be "vomited" out of the land, or we will repent and bring revival back to the people of God and be blessed by our Father. Catholics voted 54% for a man that voted to kill babies born alive and now they are upset that the Nuns must support abortion or be punished. Evangelicals, according the some of the polls after Duck Dynasty, only 50% voted and you have to guess many of those voted for people that vote sodomy and baby murder so they can get more food stamps. Now we have a homosexual marriage at the Rose Bowl Parade and a vision came to my head of a man standing on a high wire with Hell Fire down below and he looks to Heaven with a raised cliched fist, and screams, "There you go God! What are you going to do about it!"

I just felt that the Holy Spirit was showing me something that should be talked about and FR is a place I can post it. I will be giving this message soon in my church, and I'm sure their will be smashed toes in the membership. People have repented before and revival swept the land. It can be done, but what are the odds before Iran sets off a bomb in NYC or DC? Our necks are pretty stiff. It may take a strong blow to the head to get us on our knees. It's up to the church to do this. God doesn't hear the prayers of the lost. The Bible was written to His children, not to what is burnt in the fire. It's up to His church to get the "leaven" out of His House. Trying to reason with the dead is a waste of time.

I am not preaching to you, brother. But I would like to point out that our nation and society are under the judgment described in Romans 1:18 and following.

A key indicator of this judgment is that the Lord casts the reprobate mind upon the population--that is, a mind that is not able to discern truth. Biblical truth. We see it here on FR frequently in the statements made by various Freepers who interpret the symptoms of the judgment in completely erroneous, unscriptural ways, and do not seem to understand that there is a whole other, Scriptural way to explain the phenomenon they have observed. They seem to want to put the phenomenon before the sin.

I appreciate you sharing your study with us. God bless you as you deliver it to your church.

Very good comments. Except for one sentence:
Evangelicals, according the some of the polls after Duck Dynasty, only 50% voted and you have to guess many of those voted for people that vote sodomy and baby murder so they can get more food stamps.
Please take a stab at rewriting this as to make sense. Thanks.

It appears that since the United States of America was dedicated to God at its founding by George Washington, just the Nation of Israel was dedicated to God by Solomon, and since America, like Israel before it, has rejected God as a matter of national policy, and since America’s leaders response to the 911 attack was identical, at times word-for-word, to the Nation of Israel’s response to the Assyrian terrorist attack on Jerusalem, as was recorded by Isaiah in Chapter 9, verse 10, then America appears now to be under the Lord’s curse recorded in Isaiah 9:11-15: (King James Version (KJV))

8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

I have the book and have seen the DVD. It is just more conformation to me that we are indeed under God's Judgement. The politicians quoted the verses that showed Israel was indeed was in rebellion to God. To use that verse to rebuild the towers in NYC just shows how far the population has gone from God's knowledge. What they meant for an "uplifting" speech after a terrible defeat just boggles the mind that they had no idea what it meant. You would think a speech writer would have caught it or the pol himself, but they surround themselves with people that use Google to find Bible verses they want. Our commander in chief didn't even go to church for Christmas, so you have some idea how lukewarm he might be.

There are so many verses I have been reading that I just left out of the piece I wrote. Just go to Isaiah 1 and start to read there. God is pleading with Israel to change. He said "The ox knows it's owner and the donkey it's Master's crib. Even animals know who owns them and feeds them. Verse 5 says "Why would you be stricken again?" God doesn't want to teach the lesson again, but he will if he must. If you see no connection to God's protection and 9-11 and the economic downturn, how will we see the next catastrophe coming? God requires His children to discern and obey. If we don't read our Bibles and skip over the tough parts, you will miss the message that was paid for with Jewish blood and misery only to suffer it ourselves.

There is always hope. God will rescind His judgement if we repent. Jonah is a good story for that. God makes sure He is patient and fair in His punishment. Many people can't connect 9-11 to some past sin because it may take 5-10-even 50 years to take place. I just picked Clinton's infidelity and perjury as an example of the NATION sinning. People don't seem to think much about a whole country committing sin, ergo my reference to 26 states approving gay marriage. The sin goes beyond the sinner and defiles the land. We have had sodomy since Sodom and Gomorrah, but no one approves of such behavior until recently. As a nation, the choices we make collectively may doom even the saved to suffer.

When a Christian explores who they are in Christ, they should find that the Holy Spirit lives in them and He is God just as much as Jesus and Jehovah. That means we have power. We are God's soldiers involved in an eternal war against evil. As we all hunker down in our foxholes with our helmets pulled down over our eyes and our sword in it's sheath, we wonder why we are losing. Recognizing evil and casting it out is among our weapons and we just allow evil to run over into our country, into our churches, and finally into our family. Knowing the Bible and prayer are VERY powerful in battle. As we read Scripture, we see the devil use Scripture verses against Jesus and He defeated evil with the proper Scripture. Eve was defeated by listening to Satan twist what God had said.

It is time to call Christians to read their Bibles and pray to be able to defeat evil and save our country and families. God is a good God and gives good gifts to His children. We have not because we ask not. It is that simple.

We forget that within the living memory of people alive today, if you got an STD you were doomed to a horrible painful death.

In my Bible (it's at home, so I can't quote it exactly,) right before that verse there's a little header saying something like, "Israel shows arrogance and defiance." You don't even have to be a theologian to see that that verse was not appropriate for those politicians to use! I think you're right, the speechwriters probably just googled for a verse.

Also, if all humans followed the Biblical prescriptions for sex, all STDs would disappear from the Earth in one generation.

As beautiful and well-thought out that was, you are preaching to another dispensation. God is not forming a nation of believers right now, He is forming a BODY of believers, located in the heavenlies, and based purely on the finished work of Christ. The dispensation of the grace of God. It began with the saving and raising up of Paul, and will continue until the final believer is brought into the Body, at which time Christ will return to the air to resurrect our bodies and change those who are alive and remain, to conform to His glorious Body. Thus shall we ever be with the Lord. As far as praying that God would bless us on this present evil world, we are told to keep our eyes focused upward, that is where all our blessings are. We are blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST.

There will be no revival during this time of the dispensation of the grace of God. There will be apostacy. People with itching ears. Romans through Philemon would give you all the information you need to understand this time we are in.

God bless you on your quest to study the Bible. You have already been shown the difference it makes to seek the Holy Spirit while reading Scripture. The Spirit is your teacher. You must be careful what a man teaches you. The Spirit will give you the correct discernment to understand the Truth. Many will tell you that you can't understand Spiritual things, but that is why we have the Holy Spirit in the first place. Keep it up and you will be astounded at what God will show you in His Word that the world has gotten wrong.

Just last night, Hanity was discussing unemployment insurance renewal and a woman started to quote the Bible completely out of context. She was basically saying Jesus was a communist and used the rich young ruler story to build her case. Hanity didn't challenger her that Jesus is talking to His church, not government and he could have asked her if she has sold everything to follow Jesus and if so, why are you for gay marriage and abortion knowing what Jesus says about that. I believe Hanity even went to Seminary, but dropped the ball. When you hear a Democrat quote Scripture, you have to listen with a grain of salt because they are so wrong on so many important Godly principles, they would have to repent on so many things to understand the real Truth. A good rule of thumb today is just ask if they are pro abortion or pro gay marriage. If they miss either one of those principles, how can you believe they have anything Godly to share with a Christian?

Also, I believe we have spent more money treating AIDS than cancer. That doesn’t even count all the other diseases caused by sodomy, like Hepatitis.

I agree with everything you say, except the part about a “nation” of believers. As believers, we are the body of Christ and make up His Bride. As individuals, everything you say is on the money. The God principle in discussion here is we, as believers, will suffer with the unjust if we allow our land to be defiled. If Iran is used to punish us, as Pharaoh was used to punish Israel, then believers will be destroyed in the mushroom just as the lost. The land we live in is being defiled as we speak. God’s promise is to “vomit” out,....now get this,.....His people, if they allow named abominations to occur. I will go to Heaven along with all saved souls, but our land is still lost. It won’t make a difference to me if I’m with Jesus, but don’t you have any burden for other souls? God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I completely agree with Romans through Philemon, but the principle of losing your land hasn’t changed. The Bible is talking to believers all over the world not just Americans. My point is America is inviting His wrath. South Korea could keep functioning just fine if America became and afterthought. Dead Christians go to heaven no matter where they came from and how they die.

Ephesians 6:12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

In verse 12 - “......For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still”- what is the meaning or interpretation of “...His hand is stretched out still”? I have understood it to mean God is holding his hand out in anger.
