....."Very good comments. Except for one sentence:".....

I've looked the sentence over and over and I'm not an English major so their may be some other sentence structure I should have used.

The point is, when the talking heads were droning on about Phil, they had 15 different polls they discussed. One said 50% of evangelicals that were eligible to vote, didn't vote. Of the 50% that did vote, I have to imagine that many voted "for the working man" as they say. The point of Romans 1:30 is you will be held responsible if you APPROVE of the named sins in verses 29-31. I consider abortion, murder, and homosexuality fits sexual immorality.

We have people in my church and I'm sure you have some in your church that have bumper stickers on their bumpers that reveal they may not have discernment to know sticking scissors in the back of a baby's skull denotes murder.

I have spoken with several pastors and have been told everything from "It's like preaching to the choir", to "I don't want to cause division in the church". Many pastors don't think it's a problem while others don't want to lose a tither. Many school teachers, lawyers, union bosses, and such don't care to hear the truth so the pastors have just started to "preach down" to the easy stuff. Who doesn't want to hear Jesus loves you and come as you are? Some are even Deacons but vote for known abortion supporters. First the pastor needs to confront them with their rebellion to God, and if that doesn't change their mind, they should be removed and or sent home. The Church in Corinth were told to deal with this by throwing him out of the body after he was confronted with his sin and hope that he would repent and come back.

As Christians, we should vote for Godly people. If we don't even bother to vote, I don't understand what they expect to get from that but the world's evil. If there are no Godly candidates, run yourself. As far as the Catholics go, with a majority voting for Obama, there is definitely something wrong in the body if they think Obama wouldn't kill as many babies as possible. Let us also not forget that business has already been forced to service gay couples such as photographers and bakers. How long before some priest is forced to marry two men? All this because no one wants to preach the Word. The new pope has already shown so many wrong headed statements that have top be walked back, I think there is big trouble coming in the church.

Your understanding is correct. God was still angry after He allowed the Jews to be attacked. The Jews didn't turn to God even after being struck. God will keep striking until you repent.

IMO, the attacks on 9-11 and the economic trouble will continue until we come back to God. We could be attacked any day and our money is hanging by a thread. If we turn on Israel and fail to help them, what use are we to God? Our acceptance of abortion and gay marriage is just a symptom of the utter blindness in America. Our arrogance tells us that we are somehow blessed by God when we may have had "Ichabod" pronounced on us decades ago.

America will not stand without the protection of God.

I have always taken this to mean that God’s hand is still stretched out for us to grasp. If we repent our sins, and take his hand, He will lead us back to his kingdom.

Read vs 11-15. It's pretty plain that God wasn't finished punishing The Jews. God is always ready to forgive, but we must repent. God's outstretched hand is always a symbol of power. He can save you or destroy you with the same outstretched hand. If it is used to save you, He uses it to destroy your enemies. It is always a sign of His awesome power.

I'm not sure I can say this with authority, but I think the Bible always uses God's voice to create and His outstretched hand to destroy. I'm sure I will be corrected if that's not the case.

excellent post. I fear you are exactly correct.

Fortunately God gives us an answer:

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

You are probably correct, because it is obvious from history that He wasn’t finished punishing them.

The Jews were put into bondage for over 400 years because they refused to observe the Sabbaths properly.

...."We can never stay outta God’s radar- can we?".....

Not when He lives in your heart. In our youth group, we recently had a study on sex and what the Bible says. When the teacher told the teens that The Holy Spirit was there with them always, what do you think He thinks when you get in the back seat of the car on a date? It got very quiet in the room. IMO, every youth group should discuss this topic. Mom and Dad may never find out, but God knows, EVERYTHING. Many denominations sorta skip over the Holy Spirit and teach Jesus and Jehovah. Jesus said I must go away, but I will send another. Many people say Jesus is in my heart. The Holy Spirit never brings attention to Himself, but always points to Jesus, but Jesus is at the Right hand of God and the Spirit is with you always. The Holy Spirit is what brought you back to life after being dead from the Garden of Eden. Our Spirit died and the Holy Spirit brings life and communion with God.

Too many signs are telling we are past the point of no return. Although we pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 every night. God is waking a lot of us up, I also notice more people digging in against Him. Good post.

I watched that link and wow! The only thing I can say is God is still giving us a chance to repent.

...."Too many signs are telling we are past the point of no return"......

You may very well be correct, but my God is a mighty God and there is nothing to hard for Him. If everything is in His hands, if we do repent, He can reverse things quickly. The problem with Christians today is disbelief. They can't put together something that may have happened 10 years ago with a tragedy yesterday. The idea of prophesy is to warn His people in advance, sometimes hundreds of years in advance. Who would have guessed Nineveh would repent immediately. It's about belief. Belief saves you in more ways than one. If this message is repeated in several churches in several churches over the next year, maybe the Body would repent and turn in time to save or land. However, if we see more churches accepting this life style, our destruction is already etched in stone. Remember also that God ALWAYS has a remnant. Just as Noah and family was saved and Lot and family was saved, God always shows mercy when given the chance.

I'm not pretending to be a prophet, but I believe God never changes and He never apologized for Sodom and their fate.

Just as an aside, I was looking up some of these verses on Google, and there is a whole cottage industry on the net to try to prove The Bible doesn't really say what it clearly says and Bible scholars for thousands of years have interpreted hundreds of verses wrong. There are whole movements based on the reason Sodom was destroyed was due to being impolite to the angles and it was a custom in that day to show courtesy to a guest. Another said the verses describe rape and not homosexual "love". If you are a homosexual searching the Scriptures looking for some excuse to not rebel against God, ( believe it or not there are many homosexual believers), then they tend to glom on to these charlatans hoping God really approves of their lifestyle because it is based on "love". I even saw Jews that denied the Jews were in bondage in Egypt because they haven't found any evidence in the desert of a large number of "campers". If the church didn't love these souls, all we would have to do is shut up and allow God to judge. Can you imagine God watching His child sticking a bobby pin in a light socket and not slap their hand? Revealing what God's Word says is the most important act of love any Christian could do for humanity. The evil one will twist and lie to hide God's Word from these weak souls. It stokes my anger to see this. Our reward,....to be called a Bible thumper. Quoting the verses in the Bible keeps my spin off of it and lets the hearer hear what God wants him to hear. Maybe salvation, maybe nothing.

If the watchers eyes are open to the signs today and sound the alarm and enough people listen, He will turn back.

More evidence that we try to shape God's word to fit our sins.

Truth to that. There's a saying that goes something like; If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict? You my friend, are guilty as charged. ;^)

As I was reading your reply, I had a vision come to my head that if I were in a coma for 10 years and woke up today and switched on the TV and saw what was going on in government, I would immediately go prostrate on the floor and pray God would forgive whatever we have done to earn this. I think Christians are having the boiling frog syndrome. If it takes 10 years, we must be all right. Sorta like the guy that commits adultery and doesn’t get hit with lightning as he goes to his car. Must be alright with God.

I think back 30yrs. AIDS was first on the seen. Who could ever imagine we would be debating homo-marriage? With God, anything is possible, but I think judgement is upon us.
