Finn Removal: Before It's Over FrancisChurch Will Be So Squeaky Clean There Won't Be a Catholic Left
Pewsitter ^ | 4/21/15 | Frank Walker

If Francis truly were the 'peoples' pope' he would actually care about Catholic people - you know those Pharisees who need 'religious observances' but won't ever get to Heaven.

Real Catholic faithful and clergy loved Kansas City Bishop Finn. The National Catholic Reporter didn't. Real Catholics in Chile are furious Pope Francis would give them a Bishop like Juan Barros, but Francis doesn't care what people like that think, does he?

The more outraged he makes real Catholics, the more he seems to like it.

Parishioners in a southern Chile diocese are gathering wherever their new bishop appears, but their presence is not the sort of assembly the Catholic Church would expect.

In the month since Bishop Juan Barros was installed in Osorno, the priest has had to sneak out of back exits, call on riot police to shepherd him from the city's cathedral and coordinate movements with bodyguards and police canine units.

Such is the public routine of the bishop who is denounced by his opponents as having shielded Chile's most notorious pedophile priest. For his part, Barros says relations are improving.

Meaning: the crowd is giving up and getting accustomed to my infernal presence.

The appointment of Barros by Pope Francis has unleashed an unprecedented protest, with more than 1,300 church members, 30 diocesan priests and nearly half of Chile's Parliament sending letters urging the pope to reconsider.

They may be emboldened after Francis on Tuesday accepted the resignation of a U.S. bishop, Robert Finn, who pleaded guilty to failing to report a suspected abuser, answering calls by victims to hold priests accountable and ensure children are protected.

At least three men say Barros was present when they were sexually molested in the 1980s and 1990s by the Rev. Fernando Karadima.

I’m not a Catholic but I like this pope. I think it’s refreshing that his focus is on the poor. And the bishops and cardinals should not live in mansions. They need to live like everyone else.

I think it’s good he cares about the poor too, but if the three men sexually molested [featured in this article] are telling the truth, this doesn’t look good for the pope.

Looks like the author of the article is believing the accusations. I do not know if there has been an official church investigation. There are two sides to any story.

Why did Bishop Finn plead guilty?

He wasn’t on the scene with this other fellow was he? Same kind of scandal accusation but different location and for all we know different facts.

I don’t know. I just read he plead guilty to failing to report.

Some attempt here to insinuate that this fellow had anything to do with the one that the article writer is calling infernal?

Charges like that are not to be brought lightly in Christendom. Why is there no talk about an investigation?

Could you be clear? I am merely asking why Bishop Finn plead guilty to a misdemeanor - failing to report.

He was convicted, he didn’t plead guilty.

Particularly in juxtaposition to the Finn case. Bishop Finn was never accused of molestation; he was merely guilty of bad judgment in his handling of accusations against a priest in his diocese. Bishop Barros has been accused by molestation victims of pervertedly watching and covering up molestations.

"...Why is the Vatican staunchly defending Barros? Are victims of clergy sex abuse also victims of the powerful and mighty in the Vatican? Karadima’s victims report that allegations against Karadima were reported years before but were ignored by none other than the powerful Cardinal Errazuriz. Sound familiar? Cardinal Errazuriz is one of eight cardinals personally chosen by Pope Francis to serve on his key advisory panel. This is the same Cardinal Errazuriz that testified in court that he failed to act on several abuse allegations because he believed them to be untrue. Is this Francis’ idea of reform?

Despite his protestations, promises of reform, and splashy commissions, Pope Francis not only appoints bishops who cover up clergy abuse of children, but he also elevates them to his prestigious Council of 8..."

I had not heard of Cardinal Errazuriz’s connection to Karadima. Thank you for filling me in. Sickening! Have any of Karadima’s victims come out and spoken with a reporter on this?

I read the whole link you sent. Monstrous! I don't know how anyone can be in Pope Francis' corner anymore that knows of this allegation. These kids (who are not kids anymore of course) have been spoken to several times, I see from the story. The following was way disgusting if true:

"Another child victim recounted watching the sexual encounters between Barros and Karadima."

Think about that....the diocese owns a building where the bishop lives...they should purchase a dump??....They purchase a home where he, as a representative of the diocese can live....can entertain official visitors to the diocese, where the diocese can conduct business meetings, whatever.....Would you expect the state, or the federal government to provide a tiny bungalow for their chief executive to live....get real!!

I’m speaking of the claim against Barros, not the original predatory priest, who was found guilty. And they evidently are not believing these kids (now adults) regarding Barros, in this case.

I have begun to notice that Humble Jorge is too proud to admit that he has made any mistakes in his episcopal appointments, from the heretics in his Gang o’ Nine, to his delegates to the Sin-Nods, to Juan Barros, to the homo “housemother” of Sancta Marta. Once Francis appoints someone, it’s final. “There’s no going back”, just as he has referred to the TLM.

He has also never apologized for or corrected his numerous misstatements about the Catholic faith and the false notion of salvation outside the Catholic Church. Fr. Lombardi has been covering for his misstatements, more than Jay Carney ever did for Obama.

However, this pope has had no reservations in removing conservative/traditional-friendly bishops from their offices, if they were appointed by one of his predecessors, for the slightest true or false accusations from the wolves in the Church.

Francis is a Jesuit and their ranks are infested with homosexuals and have been for years. They are also the absolute worst male religious congregation for ignoring Catholic Church teachings.

I wonder if the volcano erupting in Chile has anything to do with this appointment by Pope Francis. What do you think?
