As usual, the news media have confused things instead of clearing them up.

It's not the media that has confused things. Francis has granted vague indulgences , most of which have already been given. His putting a time frame, on his "mercy" is ridiculous. Did Jesus Christ put a window on the Sacrament of Confession?

It's a PR stunt, pure and simple. Francis has even confused canon lawyers with his sloppy pronouncement. So unbecoming of a Pope.

Posting here while the window to my computer room is open, very warm tonight. Listening to folks next door having a Labor Day night party.

Ah! Like Eric Burdon "on a warm San Franciscan night."

John Paul II, Reagan, Maggie Thatcher, Lech Walesa. What an interesting time when these 4 toppled the might of the Soviet Union.

Believe it or not, I actually tried to listen to that three hour interview. It was hard because the speaker's Northern/Canadian accent is practically indecipherable and he constantly stuttered. I don't know if he was nervous, has difficulty speaking off the cuff, or has a speech impediment but it's hard to listen to.

Then he went into how "Qabbalah" is somehow the "secret religion" of the "super bankers" and I just turned him off. He may know Catholicism but when it comes to Qabbalah he (like the vast majority of people who throw the term around) couldn't possibly have a clue as to what he's talking about.

Also, the guy’s voice sounds just like that of the late Fr. Nicholas Gruner. I remember listening to Gruner on radio one time (while I was off at school) opining that it’s a good thing most Jews or so liberal or they’d all murder us in our beds as the Talmud instructs them(!!!).

Only infallible when speaking from the throne of Peter. “Ex Cathedra”, on certain areas of Church doctrine.

His Marxist leanings and pronouncements are NOT “Ex Cathedra,” but his personal opinions.

Non-Catholics will be excused for not knowing this, since , sadly, many Catholics don’t know it either...

Interesting how those areas keep shrinking.

This Pope is throwing a Hail Mary pass to regain market share.

Hats off to you if you’ve actually read it all, or any substantial portion.
That’s mighty meaty stuff right there. I’ve only nibbled few bites of it.
On another website, long ago, some fool, thinking himself a scientist (IOW, Catholic basher) claimed Thomas Aquinas was so dumb he thought women get pregnant through their ears.
Near as I could figure, he may have been wildly misunderstanding the famous treatise on ensoulment, but I wasn’t sure.
Since I didn’t really know what I was talking about either, the best comeback I could think of was, “Well! Aquinas has been published and studied for eight centuries. But your little dingleberries of wisdom will be forgotten in five minutes, bubba!”
I sure told him, huh? Hehe.

No. Dump all the illegals in St Peters and let the Pope deal with them. Then build a wall around the Vatican.

I've got to admit I know very little Aquinas. Just read (in English) the few chunks of his work that I needed in a catechetical course many, many years ago. And really, if you don't read Latin you haven't read Aquinas. And I don't and haven't.

I am vastly ignorant. Something I realize more all the time.

Deep things of Satan? And the Deep State? Unlikely coincidence.
What are the deep things of Satan?

I watched secrets of NY where they talked about the world trade center then and now. I still think twin towers are needed. They were like cathedral towers on either side of the main doors. I worked on the 94 or 96th floor of the south tower. I remember a season of rain taking the elevator and getting out in sunshine.

Organize religion is nothing more than a business.

Establish a new doctrine and get customers.

This Coming from a born-again Christian.
