[Catholic] Seattle University Group Uses Desecrated Rosary to Promote Pro-Abortion Event
National Catholic Register ^ | March 8, 2016 | Patti Armstrong

A rosary on a Catholic college campus should be no surprise. But one with the crucifix removed and replaced with an IUD, (inter-uterine device) is shocking. The desecrated rosary was used to decorate a poster announcing an abortion doctor’s talk at Seattle University, a Catholic Jesuit school.

Excerpt : The NSSRH mission is “to engage the university nursing students and support their interests in reproductive justice in order to promote a new generation of health providers who are prepared to protect and deliver full-spectrum reproductive and sexual health care as basic human rights.”
What is this “human rights” of which they speak? The right to kill humans? This mouthful of mumbo-jumbo would merely be stupidity if not so lethal to the soul and to the unborn.

#2 >>Sanctioned by Pope Francis no doubt!<< Pope Francis would forgive your childish post, but I think it was completely uncalled for; please show a modicum of respect.

Again, another childish comment. You have proven to be an imbecile. As such, you are not worth the effort of a reply, so knock yourself out and have a long miserable day...

Even "a dude n a silly hat" has a right not to be subjected to moral defamation.

Pope Francis does not endorse IUD's and the desecration of Rosaries.

Shame on slanderers.

As what I hope would be characterized as a fully practicing Catholis with a deep love of the papacy, I’ll say this. My elder son and I were educated by Jesuits. I’ve yet to meet one with discernible political views who isn’t a left wing hack. Francis is a left wing hack, as shown by among other things his acceptance of the communist crucifix, and global warming and open borders blathering. If he’s going to get involved in our politics, he should be prepared to be treated like what he is. So I think “... Would approve...” Is a fair sarcastic crack. The “pointy hat” degrades the office and I’d object.

I can agree that Pope Francis has, over-all, deplorable left-wing public preferences, a subject in which he has no competence and no authority whatsoever --- and I've deplored it here as well as elsewhere. But that does not justify telling blatant falsehoods, such as that he would approve the promotion of IUD under ANY circumstances, let alone using n IUD to desecrate a Rosary.

The Pope loves and prays the Rosary. Do you? Yes? Then do not even hint that the Pope would approve of such a sacrilege.

You might as well say that the Pope would saute human embryos in garlic butter sauce, say a Hail Mary and eat them like shrimp.

With all his aggravaing faults and limitations, Pope Francis happens to be the most prominent anti-abortion Christian leader on earth. Without a doubt, the most anti-abortion head of state. Like any other human being, even one you disagree with, he deserves not to be slimed with untruths which are morally defamatory.

As for the hat, I know this is political silly season, but it's no more relevant than ridiculing Cruz' daughters' hair bows, or a Marine's Dress Blues..

I'll challenge the above assertion with Francis's full support for the U.N global warming hoax, with no reservations about the pro-aborts, e.g. Jefferey Sachs, who joined him; and also with his statement, "We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods. This is not possible. I have not spoken much about these things, and I was reprimanded for that."

I'm disgusted with Jeffrey Sachs, Hans Schellnhuber, Ban Ki-Moon, Naomi Klein, and the rest of that lot, Pope Francis' worthless science/economic/political advisers on Laudato Si. They're mega-borts, and the Pope ought not to have allied with them politically, but denounced their activities before the world. (Emma Bonino, too, that bloody-handed hag.)

However, Pope Francis has spoken out strongly and frequently against abortion.

Pope Francis clear on denying Communion to those who facilitate in abortion

The Closed Door of Pope Francis (Speaks against abortion, divorce, and homosexuality)

Pope Francis: 'The Choice To Not Have Children Is Selfish'

Pope declares couples who don’t want kids 'selfish,' says they are part of a 'greedy generation'

Pope Francis on abortion: 'Never, never does killing a person resolve a problem'

Pope Francis praises Chilean mother who chose life for baby with anencephaly at heart of abortion debate

Bringing children into the world is never a 'mistake': Pope Francis

Don't be afraid to have more children: Pope Francis

Even in that lamentable, garbled, in many ways scandalous, mid-February "Chat at 35,000 feet" press gabble-gab, he come out flaming against abortion:

"Abortion is not a lesser evil. It is a crime. ...Abortion is not [just] a theological problem. It is a human problem, medical. One person is killed to save another. It is evil in itself, it is not only a religious evil, it is a human evil."

You're not going to find any other head of state, or any other contemporary international figure, who has come close to that, from the beginning of his pontificate and as recently as yesterday:

Pope Francis condemns abortion - “We’ve reduced unborn babies to mere matter”

Find me his match in the world leaders of today.

What’s your definition of “world leaders”?

Is it restricted to Obama, Putin, Ban Ki-moon and Francis? If so, he’s not up against much pro-life competition.

P.S. You quoted Francis as stating, “abortion is a crime”. It’s more than a crime, it’s murder and it’s a mortal sin, which condemns all participants to Hell unless absolved in the Sacrament of Confession. But Francis recently told his “Missionaries of Mercy” that if one is too shameful of their sin(s) to confess them, they may still be absolved.

(1) OK, so name one.

(2) This is restricted to those who find it impossible --- actually impossible --- to confess verbally. Though they could write it out!

"Ad impossibila nemo tenetur." Precept of Canon Law. My new tagline.

As another poster already pointed out to you, it is also impossible to give valid absolution to sins not confessed, merely because of “shame” on the penitent’s part.

Give your new tagline a rest.

As recently as yesterday, the Pope's U.N partners in crime were criticized by pro-life leaders.

‘Preposterous’: Pro-life leaders blast UN claim that denying abortion is ‘torture’

Give me a ping when this pope ever criticizes the U.N., for whatever reason. I won't be holding my breath.

I despise the activities of these U.N. pro-aborts. I am distressed by Pope Francis' kowtowing to their political position in pursuit of dubious global policies, i.e. the Climate scam.

None of that wipes away the fact that Pope Francis is a pro-life leader of unmatched stature on the contemporary scene, and ought not to be slandered.

Good heavens, there's enough real stuff to criticize him for. And accuracy counts. Lying or minimizing or silence about the things he actually does right, and moral defamation by the broad-brush method, are really not necessary, now are they?
