Isn’t the whole idea of rogation days have something to do with blessing the harvests? Thanking God for providing food is probably the first thing people got religion about.

Really thanking God for all good things in life is the least we can do. Whether we need to have a service for one particular vegetable is debatable but thankfulness for everything should come in abundance!
