Jesus was the embodiment of the Ten Commandments in action. He is our Example. The Jews made two fatal mistakes. They depended on two things to save them that was false. They were Abrahams seed. That did not save them. They followed the letter of the law but not the spirit. IF they had followed the spirit of the Law they would have been receptive of the Messiah.
They made the Law a burden instead of a beacon. They made it a formula to get to Heaven but retained their sinful nature.
The Law is Perfect. But it cannot save. That is not the purpose of the Law. The Law reveals our shortcomings and urges us onward to perfection. But it is the Faith and Love of Jesus that completes the task. IF we love Him we want to please Him and willingly take on His yoke.
