Kansas Adoption Law

The Bill and Controversy

The Kansas legislature just passed a bill that will protect Catholic Charities’ right to provide adoptions pursuant to Catholic teaching. Catholic Charities is now permitted to continue to arrange adoptions for traditionally married men and women in Kansas. This is a very important religious issue to Catholics, who believe that each member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer... (LBGTQ) community is sacred and worthy of love, respect and civil rights, but that their activities are not in line with God's plan for children and the family. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

Chastity and homosexuality

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Who is Really Harmed by the Bill?

Although many are positioning the new adoption law as a defeat for the LBGTQ community, it is more accurately a defeat for cultural-Marxists since the rights of the LBGTQ community to adopt in Kansas have not been curtailed in any way. The vast majority of Kansas adoption organizations continue to provide for LBGTQ adoptions.

Without conscious effort, I have developed a keen radar for spotting blog pimps. The surprising thing is how many infest this forum these days.

Thanks for this info: it’s very encouraging that Kansas will protect the religious liberty of Catholic institutions.

What is this deal with pointing out “blog pimps”? Where does Good Info come from? The Uber-respected MAINSTREAM MEDIA??

Sources should be considered but the attribution function on FR posts is a link to the source, period. It doesn’t have to be a source run by leftist propagandists, right? What’s your point? FR does not make anyone wealthy with the few hundred clicks they might generate to some blog, sheesh.

The point is excerpting from your own blog just to get traffic to your blog. FR is becoming a haven for the self-aggrandizing click-seeker.

Those who are actively rejecting the only salvation offered are not “sacred”. They are still human but they are definitely NOT sacred.

Saying someone isn’t sacred isn’t speaking ill of them. Saying they aren’t human would be.

Saying someone is sacred who is a defiled vessel AFFIRMS what makes them everything but. Affirmation of that nature is a step forbidden by God. He wants them to repent so that they can receive the Holy Spirit and then, and only then, are they positionally sacred.

People aren’t sacred for LOTS of reasons.

A problem these days as I don’t think anyone still respects mainstream news sources as actual impeccable information.
