Agreed, the Bible is very plain, homosexual acts are an abomination.

However, the Church has never been obligated to push for the civil laws of ancient Israel to be put into effect. Israel, through Judah, the theocratic nation, ceased to exist in 586 BC.

There are a number of death penalty offenses in the Old Testament—part of the civil laws of ancient theocratic Israel. Including for adultery, worshiping idols, and even cursing ones parents. Since theocratic Israel doesn’t exist, those civil laws also—are not binding on the rest of us, as we are not ancient theocratic Israel.

Yes homosexuality is wrong, and a terrible sin. NO, we are not obligated to execute people for it.

Show me in the Bible where it says that Gods eternal law is only intended for Israel? Sodom was destroyed long before Moses received the law. In Jude (:7,8) (New Testsment) Sodom is an example for us today.

Those aspects of the law which were fulfilled in Christ were constrained for a time. This is explained in Hebrews 9:6-10 specifically. The rest of the code is intact.

Believers are in fact fellow citizens of the commonwealth of Israel. All saints, old and new covenant, are joined with Christ as the chief cornerstone framing the entire edifice. See Ephesians 2:11-22. Only the old guards have been done away with and the stewardship given to those who will faithfully execute those responsibilities. See Matthew 21:33-43.
