Bishop O’’Obrien was our diocese’s bishop. Yes, he did cover up and/or ignore multiple instances of sexual misconduct by priests, including our priest, Monsignor Dale. An even worse scandal was centered around Bishop Obrien involved in a hit and run accident, he killed a pedestrian.
Dale was eventually removed from our parish, prosecuted, defrocked and excommunicated.
Dale is an evil man. He was the Vicar General under O’Brien and was rumored to be slotted in as his eventual replacement.
Bishop Olmstead came in and cleaned house.
We dodged a bullet.
