(The Greek word translated “baptism” simply means “to immerse,” not necessarily in water.)

A most important sentence here. Ones whole body, spirit and life experience is immersed. To accept each Christian brother and sister as equal as in your own family is to be desired. I contrast this to what is seen in rigidly structured churchs with their division of church officials are seen as superior to others of lesser rank (the lowest being a member). After Christs death, the desire to be "greater" than the other Disciples was forgotten. The only competition is to rid oneself of sin and immerse in the Love and Forgiveness of Christ. A mega-pastor, priest or Pope is not greater than a sincere believer of Christ.
