Bill, have you been doing these regularly? First one I’ve seen in a bit. Thanks for posting.
When I have to travel I don’t do these...thanks
Ah...that explains it. Thank you.
Though I don’t often reply, I look forward to your postings. :-)
Beautiful work, as always.
16And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Genesis 4
If Cains wife was not a child of Adam and Eve, where did the people of Nod come from?
Ive never understood this
Generally, Men are clearly better at some things while women are better at others. They have different roles in society. This much should be obvious. Their basic instincts are also different.
Cain married one of Adam and Eve’s other daughters. It would be his sister technically, but it would not be the same is if you or I married our sister...This was the beginning of the human race and Adam and Eve would have been quite prolific.
... and your evidence for this is what, exactly?
It would be his sister technically
"technically" ? ? ?
Why qualify it? ANY female child begotten of MY mother and MY father is MY sister, no "technical" qualifications needed.
The good news is leftists wont be in charge in Heaven, so they wont destroy that. But they will have a strong presence in Hell, where they could hardly make it any worse.
Hey Izzy I am not trying to pull anything over on anyone, I am just answering questions as best as I can. It would be a different thing for you or I to marry a sister than for Any of Adam and Eve’s original children to marry their sister. There were no other people, and the Gene pool had not advanced as much in corruption as it has by now. So yes “technically” it could be defined as incest, but it wouldn’t have been the same.
I here you, and this is the usual answer,
but incest is prohibited in Leviticus 18
Specifically between siblings.
I wish Genesis was clearer on this...
Adam and Eve would have had children over a span of hundreds of years...for someone in “batch one” to marry someone in “batch three” would not quite be the same as for you and I to marry the sister we were raised in the same house with. It is simply incomparable...
Maybe Nod was just a place ... where is there an indication that there were already people there?
Since I have a STEM background I can't help but to apply a little reverse engineering every now and then. I want to know the details, implementations, and if everything fits. I am overwhelmed with what I find, particularly in the book of Genesis.
There too stood a groom with a hole in his side, being presented with a bride, purchased by his blood. Thus the Bible begins and ends with a wedding.
So if you want to see where man is headed, read and THINK about HOW it all began. It wasn't random.
BTW if there are any Christians involved with or supporting the "pussy hat" crowd, they might want to re-read Genesis and check out the the origin and purpose of "true" women. Maybe they can convince me that I am wrong in my interpretation of GOD's word.
I hope to see you at the wedding...
Cain and Able would have been the product of a man and his clone?
The Genetics here would be pretty weird
I suspect that this is a mystery that will be revealed in due time
I accept the Genesis account at face value,
I just dont understand some of it
Eve was not a clone, she was and is the creation of God as a unique person bearing the Image of God...
So true, the end corresponds to the beginning...Genesis and Revelation are hand in glove...
