All modern humans descended from a solitary pair who lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, scientists say.
Scientists surveyed the genetic 'bar codes' of five million animals - including humans - from 100,000 different species and deduced that we sprang from a single pair of adults after a catastrophic event almost wiped out the human race.
These bar codes, or snippets of DNA that reside outside the nuclei of living cells, suggest that it's not just people who came from a single pair of beings, but nine out of every 10 animal species, too

Reasonable guess. But I’ve looked at half a dozen reports of this stufy and hsaven’t seen an answer.

Yeah - I’m trying to remember what the animals were that came in by the sevens(?). Clean animals I think, so they could do sacrifices. Be interesting if that matched up with the Ark.
Although even those should go back to the original pair of animals at Creation.
I’m guessing that their scientific experiments have a 10% accuracy rate - which accounts for the 9 in 10. (It probably is 10 out of 10).
But - even evolutionary-wise. The odds are so stacked against a male AND a female just happening by chance - and then just happening by chance to meet up with each other in the entire world - it would pretty much have to happen just once. (I mean, the odds are pretty impossible, so it would REALLY be impossible having it happen twice.)
How can it be late to the game? Until now there was no solid scientific way to confirm what has been a matter of faith.
It isn’t Adam and Eve, it is Noah and Mrs. Noah. All other descendants of Adam & Eve, other than the wives of Noah’s sons, died in the Flood...and ALL of their children were descended from Noah and his wife.
And they came from Adam and Eve.

Except all of Noah’s family were descended from Adam and Eve.
The Bible says that Adam lived to be something like 930 years. And Noah was born another 120 years or something after that. Although take some of that with a grain of salt. IIRC, some of the ages stated may be a bit off due to them rounding off to a “perfect” number which had meaning.

Where did these two peole come from?
We know: Adam and Eve.
Then those two people are really, really, really old Not5000 years ago old. Call me a racist but I suspect that if Adam and Eve actually existed they were Caucasian.

So, Homo sapiens and, say, zebras both descended from a single pair of beings?

It’s rather appalling how few recognize that the universe is a hazardous place and that unexplained events have a very real explanation when terrestrial evidence is lacking.
