Same with the Methodists. No drinking at any time, and on Sunday no dancing, movies, card playing, etc. Church twice on Sunday and also mid-week, year-round. It was then the "Methodist Episcopal" church and very similar to the EC.
I am at the point I just pray at home.
Try the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) if there is one near you. (That is absolutely NOT the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America - ELCA).
LCMS: No female pastors! Socially conservative! No LGBT indulgences! And the motto is "Sola Gratia, Sola Fede, Sola Scriptura" "We are saved by Grace, through Faith, and the Bible is our sole source of authority." The preaching is about the scriptures and what they mean, not about Democrat talking points, rainbows or unicorns. There is a catechism written by Martin Luther, whose aim was not to introduce "progress", but to return the corrupted church to the Apostolic faith as taught by Jesus to the apostles. Most of the people are educated and devout, and the hymns are wonderful.
Agreed. They partnered with American Heritage Girls, the conservative alternative to the Girl Scouts.
Thanks for the information.
