If Purgatory is needed to cleanse souls then why was Yeshua crucified? His dying saved those of us who believe in Him. If Purgatory is needed then it is by works and not the blood of Christ that saves us. Don’t need any more “cleansing”.

[His dying saved those of us who believe in Him], are Baptized and die with only small spots of sin on the soul, able to be cleansed in Purgatory. Without the Crucifixion, no saving would be possible; without Purgatory, only perfect saints (only Mary) or those who had been absolved only immediately before death would be saved.
