Chicago is ground zero for the Communist infiltration of the Catholic Church in America.

It’s happening everywhere. Has been forever.

And yes I’m Catholic.

If this keeps up and cover ups keep happening the Pope is gonna wind up in the cell John Gotti was in.

A RICO charge would probably be provable.

I’m not clicking that source to find out what source they’re using to come up with this.

A 182-page report, published Wednesday by the Minnesota-based law firm Jeff Anderson and Associates, includes the names, background information, photos and assignment histories of each accused clergy member.

This was compiled from complaints of abuse that extend back a ways. Some were from settlements and other sources. Admittedly it's a catchall but still it needs to be reported and acted upon. The Church cannot or will not police itself.

The only effective way to deal with predatory, criminal, homosexual priests is to arrest, prosecute and imprison them. Doubt in states like Democratic Illinois the LBGT power structure is allowing police and prosecutors from doing what is necessary. The law is not being enforced or more would already be in jail. Where are the prosecutions?

I believe in innocent until proven guilty.

...the bad part is that things have fallen so far that all or the majority of them being guilty is actually plausible.

If only! Imprisoning a head of state would probably set off a global war, even if it’s Hippie Pope Frank.

Arresting the enabler Cardinals and bishops should be a good start, though, and cutting off the money flow.

Yeah he’s a head of state, isn’t he?

Some Catholic I am :)

Cardinals and Bishops would be a good way to go.

I don’t know if there’s a way of salvaging the church at this point.

For a Catholic to donate, at this point, is like financially supporting pedophilia.

I will get outcries from other catholics now, but if they were honest with themselves, what OTHER organization with this much RAMPANT child molesting going on would they donate to?

Hollywood?

Congress?

And with Francis, it’s more a criminal enterprise than a religion.

Figuratively burn it down and start over.

My thought as well. Sad that this is so widespread.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty.

As do I. I also believe where there's smoke the possibility of fire is almost certain.

I’ll be kind and assume “milestones” was your spellchecker.

Even if so, that’s up there with (from Star Trek) Scottie’s “concrete galoshes”. :-)

People should read the article before jumping to conclusions.

This is not a government report; it's written by (IIRC) a law firm which has made good money chasing after clerical abusers.

Not all of the allegations are credible or substantiated.

Not all of the alleged perps are still alive.

Some of them served in Illinois only briefly or incidentally -- most of their career was elsewhere, IOW -- and the accusations of abuse did not necessarily happen while they were serving in Illinois. (This means that they could be counted as "sexually abusive priests" multiple times in different states.)

It appears to include abusers who were removed from the priesthood on account of their abuse.

It's bad, but it's played up to be even worse than what it is.

Some of the complaints are no doubt valid. Some though are probably about hoping to grab a settlement.
