Retired Pope Benedict reemerges to wade into the roiling clergy sex abuse debate
LA Times ^ | APR 14, 2019 | By TOM KINGTON

The former Pope Benedict XVI receives visitors at his secluded residence in the Vatican’s gardens, but if they gripe about his successor, Pope Francis, he is said to have a way of changing the subject.

“Various people have told me Benedict’s reply to criticism of Francis is, ‘Let’s pray,’” said Sandro Magister, a Vatican expert at Italy’s L’Espresso magazine.

But Thursday, the 91-year-old German native released an incendiary essay blaming the sexual abuse crisis plaguing the church on the sexual revolution of the 1960s, which he said triggered an erosion of rules and morality in the church.

The essay was seen by many as undermining Pope Francis because it constitutes a major statement on the crisis despite Benedict’s vow to remain in the shadows.

It has also caused shock waves in the Catholic Church because Francis has chosen to blame abuse on priests exploiting their power, rather than on any moral collapse within the church. The latter is an argument favored by Francis’ opponents, who believe he is contributing to a decline in moral values by showing greater tolerance of homosexuality and pushing to offer communion to divorcees who remarry outside the church.

“The release of this letter has been schismatic in effect, if not in intention,” said Austen Ivereigh, who has written a biography of Francis.

Benedict is finally coming out against what he thinks started the gay pedophile Deep State in the Catholic church.

In reality, the man who Catholics claim is the first pope, Peter, was married, and the Bible says bishops are to be married, having only one wife, and have well-controlled children.

So, the Catholic church has been grotesquely wrong since, well, its beginning, according to its own Bible.

Sodomy and other sexual perversions are in no way a new phenomenon in the Church

https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/02/book-of-gomorrah-new-publication-of-st.html

...St. Peter Damien (1007-1072) Abbot of the Fonte Avellana Monastery and subsequently Cardinal/Bishop of Ostia, was one of the most outstanding figures of Catholic reform in the XI century. His Liber Gomorrhianus, appeared around 1049, in an age when corruption was widely spread, even in the highest ranks of the ecclesiastical world. In this writing, addressed to Pope Leo IX, Peter Damien condemns the perverted habits of his time in a language that knows no false mercy or compromises. He is convinced that of all the sins, the gravest is sodomy, a term which includes all the acts against nature and which want to satisfy sexual pleasure by separating it from procreation. “If this absolutely ignominious and abominable vice is not immediately stopped with an iron fist – he writes – the sword of Divine wrath will fall upon us, bringing ruin to many.”

...He did not moderate his language, but kept it fiery to show his indignation. He was fearless in voicing an uncompromising hatred for sin and it was precisely this hatred that rendered his love burning for the Truth and the Good.

...Today, at the beginning of the third millennium of Christ’s birth, priests, bishops and Episcopal conferences are arguing for married priests; they are placing in doubt the indissolubility of the marriage bond between man and woman and at the same time, accepting the introduction of laws for homosexual pseudo-marriage. Sodomy is not being thought of as a sin that cries to God for vengeance but is diffused in seminaries, colleges, ecclesiastical universities and even inside the Sacred Walls of the Vatican itself.

...Liber Gomorrhianus reminds us that there is something worse than moral vice practiced and theorized. It is the silence that should speak, the abstention that should intervene, the bond of complicity that is established among the wicked and of those, who with the pretext of avoiding scandal are silent, and, by being silent, consent. Graver still, is the acceptance of homosexuality by churchmen, thought of as a “positive” tension towards the good, worthy of pastoral care and juridical protection and not as an abominable sin.

As important as this is
There is a far greater horror eating at the core of human existence
The destruction of Female/Male Bonding, Gender Roles, Killing of Children, and our appropriate relation to God.

Wonderful commentary on Marian Viewpoint on the Women’s Liberation Movement, and the toxic nature of Radical Feminism

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/the-plague-of-radical-feminism-descends-upon-the-nation/
https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Mary-Exposed-Rescuing-Culture-Femininity/dp/1505110262/pjmedia-20

...“Almost overnight,” writes Carrie Gress in The Anti-Mary Exposed: Rescuing the Culture from Toxic Femininity, “our once pro-life culture became pro-lifestyle, returning to an epicurean paganism that embraces everything that feels good.” How is it, she asks, that the women’s liberation movement “has demolished so decisively the moral and social structures of American society?” “There must be something more,” she answers, “than simple human vice behind the fact that millions of women have betrayed the most sacred and fundamental of relationships, that of mother and child,” leaving “husbands wondering what happened to their wives, fathers wondering what happened to their daughters, and children wondering what happened to their mothers.”

...Never in history, she continues, “have mothers been so willing to kill their children”—3000 per day in the U.S. in an abortion frenzy of more than Herodian proportions. The biblical template of Mother and Son, subsumed in the sacred nexus of Mary and Jesus, has been shattered. Gress concludes that a demonic force—the anti-Mary—is at work, sundering women from their God-given roles as mothers and caregivers. Evil is neither a construct nor a concept; it is real, according to Gress, and the Prince of Darkness is among us.

“Three years on, however, the new essay casts him less as a kindly old grandpa and more like a curmudgeon still fuming about the ’60s.”

Gee, no bias there, LA Times!

It all certainly does come down to a lack of morality - on many levels. If the priesthood is supposed to be celibate, how can sexually active priests be tolerated? Whether they’re abusing the youth or shacking up with a homosexual lover, they should be removed from their position. If they commit a crime they should be prosecuted. There is no excuse for what has gone on in the Catholic church, or any other. If you cannot abide by the dogma of your religion, you should choose another.

It has been my belief from day one that Benedict’s retirement was directly of a result of him taking on the sodomite cabal in the church, but completely underestimating how entrenched, powerful and large it was, and as a result he was forced out.

Titus 1:6

5For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Stanne, this is the Catholic church’s bible saying you are wrong:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Timothy+3&version=RSVCE

1 Timothy 3 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

Qualifications of Bishops
3 The saying is sure: If any one aspires to the office of bishop,[a] he desires a noble task. 2 Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher, 3 no drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, and no lover of money. 4 He must manage his own household well, keeping his children submissive and respectful in every way; 5 for if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how can he care for God’s church? 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may be puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil;[b] 7 moreover he must be well thought of by outsiders, or he may fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.[c]

Qualifications of Deacons
8 Deacons likewise must be serious, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for gain; 9 they must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 And let them also be tested first; then if they prove themselves blameless let them serve as deacons. 11 The women[d] likewise must be serious, no slanderers, but temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husband of one wife, and let them manage their children and their households well; 13 for those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Footnotes:

3.1 bishop: At this time an office probably not distinct from that of priest.
1 Timothy 3:6 Or slanderer
1 Timothy 3:7 Or slanderer
3.11 women: i.e., deaconesses.

The Catholic church will have this problem as long as priests are required to be celibate. It is the ideal situation for gay guys and pedophiles. I’m not saying all priests are perverted but I believe a lot more are than are being caught!!!

I know a priest who is married. He presided over and covered up a now-disclosed sexual abuse scandal so egregious it is scandalizing the entire community of the parish and catholic school. K-12.

The perpetrator is dead under suspicious circumstances a day before the news came out.

But because the pastor was married that could not have happened? The perp was an unmarried deacon. He could have married. He didn’t want to be married.

I can guarantee there will be none of these offenders arguing that if they had been allowed to be married they would not have been offenders.

It’s so silly

Pope Benedict had been taking on the Lavender Mafia in the Catholic Church for a long time.

He was so hated by them that one is actually on record stating that Cardinal Ratzinger would be assassinated within a month after Pope John Paul II died

It’s becoming pretty clear that Pope Benedict was forced out. Given President Obama’s long standing connections to the dissident faction within the Catholic Church, it’s very likely that Obama had something to do with it.

Notice that Obama was initially incredibly hostile to the Church, but that hostility ended the day Francis took over. Francis is the Obama if the Catholic Church

Recently, it seems Francis has really stopped pretending and dropped any pretense of being a faithful Catholic and has went all in on radically changing the Catholic Church. This may be the reason Pope Benedict has finally ended his silence.

There has been a civil war occurring within the Catholic Church and that conflict is becoming public and it’s spreading

I have serious concerns that there will not be any consensus within the leadership of the Church to elect another Pope when Francis is gone
