The time-lapse video below does a wonderful job of recording the beauty of fog. Most of us dont remark on it in real time; it just seems to sit there and brood. Like clouds, fog is dynamic and undulating, moving so slowly that it rarely catches our attention. If time is collapsed, as is done in this video, the fog seems to flow like a river over the landscape, sometimes cascading like a waterfall. It is a beautiful sight. Put this in your wonder and awe file.
Praise the LORD, you from the earth,
fire, hail, snow, and fog, winds and storms
that carry out his command. (Psalm 148: 7-8)
Fog: One of Gods wonderful creations!

I get to see some wonderfully variable fog quite often at the Lake of the Ozarks. It is quite common in the mornings as the cool temperatures profit from the warm lake water before turn-over.
The variable topography of the Osage River valley allows you to look down on it and drive through it. It also is interesting to boat through on an early morning as it is breaking up.
Perhaps Eric has a story to add.
Ozarks are awesome fog/foliage shots this time of year- beautiful country-
I think God does it just to delight everyone but airline pilots.
Try watching a bank roll in off Lake Superior ... It’s like watching God’s hand move across the waters at the dawn of Creation.
Thanks for this, Salvation.
I lived on top of a mountain overlooking the ocean in Big Sur, CA for several months—an extended vacation because it was so beautiful there. We could see the fog coming up the mountain and literally hear it when it touched the trees on our property. Loved it so much.
Lovely to watch. Hate being in it!
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
You’ve summed it up well.
Warmth from the lake keeps us 8 or ten degrees above local temps.
Our veggie garden continues to produce after frost claimed veggies elsewhere.
Fog is good. It keeps the skin hydrated.
