I grew up CRC, less than 1/2 hour away from this town and school. Most of the kids I went to school with including family went to this college.
The big CRC colleges are Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan and Dordt in Sioux Center.
The CRC has gone full bore leftist. Look them up sometime. Social and environmental justice crap. It is outrageous that denomination has allowed the egg heads to destroy what was once a place for hard working good people. I left it when I joined the Army a long time ago, and am so thankful to God for that.
Hey everyone! Stop going to college. Really, truly, pull out and don’t go back. That’s my best advice. Do some honest work with your hands, learn a skill, become an apprentice, start a small business, just work hard and be diligent and you will most likely do fine. Literally do anything other than college. It’s not worth it anymore — not for your pocketbook, your mind or your spirit.

An argument for which they have no answer. Spurgeon, one of the greatest Calvinist preachers of all time, laid waste to that argument in one of his sermons.
Used to be that Dordt looked down on Calvin College because it had gone liberal.

Dordt seems to have gone full liberal themselves. But it’s such a tradition in the area that many people automatically go there and send their kids there. Not even a question for most of the people I went to church and school with. It is sad to see.

Problem is hyper-Calvinists out-Calvin Calvin. A bit similar to Charlie Chaplin who entered a Charlie Chaplin look alike contest and came in 3rd.

I must say years ago when I learned the United Methodists and Presbyterians were considering a merger my jaw dropped. John and Charles Wesley were Anglicans.
The United Methodists (Missouri) Synod is very conservative. Please don’t confuse them with with the ELCA
I've never even heard of the United Methodists (Missouri) Synod and why would I confuse them with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America?
I was referring to the United Methodist Church (with 12 million members) and the the Presbyterian Church USA (with over a million members) rumors they would merge ten or fifteen years ago.
At least my comment included Calvinists. Neither the United Methodists (Missouri) Synod, nor the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are Calvinist.
Missouri Synod Lutherans are Biblical Christians. The ELCA is heretical.
