23-Year-Old Charged In Smashing Of Catholic Church Statues: NYPD

Police said that the young, Forest Hills resident is the woman who was caught on camera smashing a pair of church statues to pieces in July.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A 23-year-old Forest Hills resident was hit with hate crime charges on Friday, after police identified her as the person who smashed a pair of church statues in July, according to the NYPD.

Jacqueline Nikiena was arrested on Friday, Sept. 10 on charges of criminal mischief as a hate crime and aggravated harassment, police said.

Her arrest comes nearly two months after she was caught on camera smashing a pair of statues outside Our Lady of Mercy church in Forest Hills, according to police.

A video of the vandalism shows the person who police believe to be Nikiena smashing two statues — one of the Blessed Mother and one of St. Therese the Little Flower — against the ground. She then dragged the statues into the street and hurled them against the concrete, the video shows, leaving the 84-year-old figures in pieces.

A GoFundMe page organized on behalf of the church surpassed its $25,000 fundraising goal — money that will go towards repairing the statues.

So confused, I thought statue smashing, cutting, removal, obliteration, tagging, etc was all ok now?

I guess the gang of local oppressors did not get the message.

Surely this will be straightened out higher up and the poor victim will go free

If this is the St. Therese described in my link here it is interesting that this nut chose to attack that statue...Therese aspired to be a warrior for Christ ...https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2321074/posts

It would be much easier to frame an appropriate comment to this thread were a picture of the accused available.

Maybe the vaccine made her temporarily insane.

(Defense lawyers take note.)

She had the vaccine on July 20th. The statues were smashed on July 17th. Which means...she had her photo taken and printed 3 days after the crime (while people were presumably looking for her).

She need only claim that she mistook the Virgin Mary and St. Theresa for Washington and Lincoln.

General Mildred had his fingers in a lot of treasonous activities, didn’t he?

O.K.

I’m sure St. Theresa will forgive her. Therese of the Infant Jesus was about this girl’s age when she died of tuberculosis in the convent.

Her autobiography is intriguing.

She did a lot of crazy things when young, also.

EWTN has in its catalogue a wonderful movie about this saint.

I am confused and ignorant.
Is St. Therese the Little Flower — the same as St.Therese Lisieux, the Doctor of the Church?

Please enlighten. Thanks.

St. Teresa of Avila, the intellectual, is the Doctor of the Church.

Her autobiography is also fascinating. She was a mystic.

Therese of Lisieux is the one called the Little Flower.

She died young, and said she would spend her Heaven doing good upon earth.

She is often pictured in her Carmelite habit, holding a bouquet of roses.

It is believed by her devotees that if you pray for her intercession, she will give you a sign that she is working on it by sending you a fresh rose, or a whole bouquet.

My Confirmation name is Theresa, and I have oftentimes received a rose from her.

And now we also have St. Teresa of Calcutta...another great one!

“Making Saints” by Kenneth Woodward is a fascinating volume about how saints get to be “official” saints of the Catholic Church.

B**** should be put to work in a quarry breaking rocks until
she gets enough money to pay for the damaged statues.
No work, no food. If she starves herself to death, good.

These iconoclast, particularly ones who attack religious images, should be suppressed as brutally as possible.

Bet she is Antifa or BLM
