This is what happens when you drift away from the Torah. Eventually you end up 180 degrees in opposition to the Word of God. You will descend into idolatry. It’s automatic; something will fill the vacuum. Over time it will spiral downward into depravity. But if you can manage to present the exterior form of the earlier, more righteous culture, you can fool the masses into thinking that nothing has changed. At a certain point you can simply drop the veneer and most of the sheep will resign themselves to live with the ugliness.

Their ranks have become infested with it. The only way to stop it is to absolutely bankrupt the RCC to the point it has to divest itself from its Vatican treasures just to pay the judgments its priests’ homosexual abuse has led to.
