Chag Samayach! Gut Yoniff! (as the case may be)
Saturday sunset to Monday nightfall
Shabbat Shalom! Gut Shabbes!
<< Happy 3334th anniversary (Sunday) >>
Saturday at sundown (Shavuot).
The rest of the world’s peoples balked at God and said “no” to the opportunity to receive the Torah, which includes the 10 commandments.
All together there are 613 commandments outlined in the Torah - some are things to do (”positive commandments”) and some are things to definitely not do (”negative commandments”).
For instance, and timely as the propagandists go wild this week calling “sin” by the 180 degree wrong misnomer “pride,” a male having sexual relations (i.e, lying with) with another male is strictly forbidden - a cardinal sin.
The Lord, the Lord Jehovah has given unto you these fifteen...
[drops one of the tablets]
Oy! Ten! Ten commandments for all to obey!
What always amazed me is that through the various calendars from the Hebrews, through the Julian Calendar, the Gregorian Calendar, and even the Muslim calendar, EVERYone agrees when Saturday and Sunday are. The French revolutionaries were able to make the metric system stick for much of the world, but not their idiotic metric calendar.
Even so, come Lord Jesus.
On Mother's Day, Mrs. Phoebe started building her nest in the corner of the framing that is just above my front door. A total of 4 eggs was reached on May 21, making the ETA for baby birds on Sunday. Now a quick peek just once a day so we'll know the birthday.
Now you know why there are so many Jewish CPAs....They just never stop counting.
Well you know how it runs in the family, starting with Mama Rochel.
When Joseph "he will add" arrived she immediately and intuitively knew that God would add to her another son.
That's just how it is with Jewish mothers. :)
Praise G-d!
Shavuot 5604:
What Hath God Wrought?
On May 24, 1844, Samuel F. B. Morse dispatched the first telegraphic message over an experimental line from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore. The message, taken from the Bible, Numbers 23:23 and recorded on a paper tape, had been suggested to Morse by Annie Ellsworth, the young daughter of a friend.
