So many people ask, “How in the world could this be happening? It is so crazy!” And they are correct.
But the bible has been foretelling world events for thousands of years so it makes sense that perhaps it may have insight into what is going on today. A year or so ago, a good friend of mine who owns TheLibertyDaily.com sent me this chapter to read and everything made sense. Here are my thoughts on this chapter and the passage is below the video:

II Thess Chapter 2
The Man of Lawlessness
2 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
Stand Firm 13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits[b] to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings[c] we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Really? How do YOU know?
Could it be “continuous present tense”? I think Greek has up to 8 verb forms.
I ask again, How do you KNOW?

Because that is the way the translators translated from the Greek, genius. That is HOW I know.
And being fairly good with English grammar, present participle means happening in the present. It is not future tense. Paul would not warn his congregants about watching for something that would occur 2,000 years in the future.
He’s definitely working for some sort of antichrist, even though his boss is likely not THE Antichrist

Could be man made virus,nuclear annihilation or the coming of the Good Shepherd.
We all must look into our hearts and plan accordingly.

You would have to do a ton of mental gymnastics to ignore Revelation 13 and state it has “nothing” to do with today’s world.
Did Nero make Mayans and Chinese take his “Mark”?
What was the Abomination of Desolation Jesus referred to in Mark 13:14?
And when did that happen?
When did the promise of Israel ever happen in Genesis 15:18 that they were promised by The Sovereign Lord God, that the Nile River to the Euphrates would be their land?
His promises in Jeremiah 31:35-37 are eternal. Forever and future tense.
And that day gets closer with each passing second.

Israel is a good litmus test for “believers”.
Do you believe she is divinely protected and the promises of The Lord are for her?
Or do you believe He’s done with her?
“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus Christ shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” 2 Thess. 1:7,8. KJV
Paul continues in the same vein in 2:1, speaking of the same coming he had just described.
“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him.”
The “coming” here is the one he had just described. Which is after the tribulation when he comes in judgment (Matt. 24:29-31). Not a secret rapture.
Concerning that “day,” the day of his coming, a day of judgment, he goes on to say:
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first, AND THAT MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, the son of perdition.
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” verses 3,4.
The full preterists say the opposite. The rebellion and the antichrist came first, then came the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto him. They have the rebellion, the antichrist, and our gathering unto Christ as past events, not future, Having already taken place about two thousand years ago.
Likewise, the pre-tribs on FR choose to be deceived, which Paul clearly warns against, teaching that Christ comes first (in an alleged pretrib rapture), and NOT THE ANTICHRIST as Paul clearly says.
The apostle Paul says the rebellion and antichrist comes first, and we should not be deceived on this by any means.
At the church I attend, we are in the middle of a 5 week study on Thessalonians II. Prior to that we went thru First Thessalonians.

Rev. 1:1 These things will happen shortly. Am I an evil person for believing that Jesus meant it when he said he would show John things that were to happen “shortly”? Did Jesus miss a good opportunity to say that these things will occur in the distant future?

Certainly the Romans. It was the law, you could not buy or sell (operate a business) unless you went to the “courthouse” and pledge worship and allegiance to the emperor. And in the Biblical view, the “world” was the Roman empire and Bibilical lands. Remember, the whole world went down into Egypt for food? The Mayans certainly did not.

Roman troops surrounding Jerusalem. Remember Christ told his audience to leave immediately when they saw that — don’t even go back into the house to gather stuff. The Romans gathered to totally destroy the Jewish nation. They did. That is what Jesus had in mind when he wept over Jerusalem — your house is left desolate.

And how many are really going to be able to survive the Revelation 16:4 Bowl Judgement of water turning to blood all around the Earth? By that point most of the population is dead IMHO.
I can already see Andy Stanley or Joel Osteen say the morning after all these hundreds of millions of missing people disappear state:
“Well it wasn’t just Christians who were taken. Because I’m still here, and many others are too.”
As I noted in another thread, I believe this prophecy refers to Adolf hitler. It may however be repeated in a second cycle.
This is because I view the prophecy of the millenial kingdom as a reference to the past period since 1945, and the eternal kingdom as something about to unfold.
The number 666 can refer to hitler as follows: he spent six years building the Nazi party, six years governing Germany until the Reich was ready to wage war, and six years eventually losing that war.
I do believe there could be a shadow series of events also verifying times and images, but all of them are satisfactorily explained by the much larger violence and killing of 1938-45. If we think the end of the world will be worse than that war, then it will certainly be a very bad time, but in fact, this is the little season at the end of the millenial kingdom. Things will get bad, are already bad, but the great tribulation was the holocaust and the Gulag. We will not see anything as bad as those.
Anyway, I realize nobody is going to accept this because no famous American pastor ever said it in a book.
But I believe it’s true and you’ll soon know I was right.
The parallel is that this Biden regime is a pale imitation of the Reich and is acting in a somewhat similar way, but their intended oppression of Christians and Jews will not rise to the same level. They are only part-time Nazis, about a 5% solution of the real thing, and that is why this is the “little season” because to quote their leader, they are J.V. Nazis. (Obama often uses term junior varsity) ...
As to other details of the anti-christ, hitler certainly used a symbol or “mark” to identify the citizens who could fully engage in society, and also another one (the yellow star) to identify those who were verboten. And he had an alliance with the “dragon” (Japan at that point, now it’s China).
Does this change anything about readiness? No. Just as people then needed to be ready to do battle with the wicked ones, we again are in the same boat, facing the beast, dragon and false prophet released from the bottomless pit.
I don’t think very many people will understand this is in fact the second of the two end times described in prophecy, until Jesus returns and confirms it. But the fact that we are in the second end time means that all time countdowns are irrelevant, those already happened (1938 to 1945) and we don’t have any particular time to wait for the little season to be closed off by the appearance of Jesus and the new Jerusalem — it could be any day.
