Amen!
Man, you sound like a superstitious barbarian. Lunar eclipses foretell nothing.
“I suppose there is an increase in the chance of earthquakes as there should be greater gravitational pull with the sun, moon and earth lined up perfectly.
Beyond that the present day religious “end of earthers”, the man made climate change cultists, Millerites, Muggletonians, Hale Bop, and Jonestown cultists seem to have a lot in common.
Or the earth is going to end in April.”
Thank you for the life preserver. The Easter Bunny and Santa thank you as well.

You might also like Smith’s book. He was from McLeansboro originally.
“Little Egypt” is a name for southern Illinois, generally the part south of U.S. Highway 50. There isn’t any one town named Little Egypt.

And Mr. Brentner should know this, he grew up in Northern Illinois, Rockford, to be precise.
Time will tell on his prediction; wether this is God’s Plan or not, it will be interesting to see if it comes to pass.
We are also told to beware false prophets. This seems tailor made for apocalyptic predictions.
I know one thing for sure- if it does happen, it’s going to be disastrous.
This came to me:
“Matthew 13:11 - Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.”
Can it then end a day B4 tax day? It’d sure avert a lot of headaches!
Neither. Eclipses happen all the time. There’s another in October. 2 in 2026, 2 more in 2027. They look cool, but they don’t actually mean much of anything.
The Pantheon of gods in many cultures was associated with the planets. Christians recognize that Jesus is the Lord of Hosts.
Today’s ‘Christian’ culture:
Sun Day
Moon Day
You referenced Genesis and the Creation of the Lights in the Firmament as His 4th Day.
Sunday nor Moon Day are His 4th Day, so why does Christian culture separate the two lights and give each a day?
False God tiws day
False God woden’s day
False God thor’s day
False goddess frigg day
Saturn day
Yikes
Maybe humans haven’t really changed..
Even those who have a Bible to read
Yes, and the Southern Illinois University mascot is the “Salukis”, probably best known for Walt Frazier, but they have an excellent School of Aviation.
A few other references to Egypt are scattered about the area...
Curiously, maps of the centerline of totality this time vary a bit. One puts it over the main dam at Crab Orchard Lake, but most (I think - I haven’t canvassed all) put it slightly ( ~ 1/2 mile) North, over the emergency spillway. Nice (mowed periodically to keep it in grass) open field there — I bet it will be packed.
Local cabins are pretty much already booked, and, look at the rates! (Scroll down)
Oh, heck, lots of people in Northern IL don’t have a clue about Southern IL...
In the ‘70s, my Dad and I visited some relatives in Metropolis for some fishing.
I liked it there, but it is different, what surprised me was the strong Southern accent that everyone had. The locals had trot lines set across the river, and we caught a lot of gar- they were as numerous as carp are here.
We even ventured briefly across the Ohio into Paducah Kentucky for dinner.
Great fried fish and Hush Puppies!
It was a good time.
I was there from 70-72. Party school. But Bucky Fuller was there and I took his World Game class. Lived for 10.00 a month rent in a small geodesic dome just outside town. It was built next to an old farmhouse, on telephone pole stilts, with a trap door in the floor for an entrance. I used to park my VW bug under the come and climbed on the fender then hood to get inside. Yes I was a sort of hippie. Outhouse on the farm and a pump for water. Water jugs on the back porch for showers.
:-)
There are lots of nice places to explore in SI. Some over in SEMO, too: Johnson Shut-ins is great (especially on a hot day!)
Having grown up in flat Chicago I was loving southern Illinois. Did a lot of climbing, hiking, mushroom picking (morels), and it was the first time I saw a sky full of stars.
