In #24 the artist subscribes to the theory that Jesus was crucified through the wrist. In Greek the word used indicates either hand or wrist.

Yes, nailing through the hand would not support His weight, unless augmented by rope. Moreover, the nail through the wrist was designed to irritate the medial nerve, as John informs me, resulting in excruciating pain.
