"Dailey said the Army will most likely have the final prototypes in early December. The uniform will feature a belted jacket, khaki shirt and brown leather shoes for men and women."

This probably means that paratroopers will go back to brown Corcoran Jump Boots when wearing this uniform.

You mean the Sam Browne belt? The army dropped that in 1942.

When the gal who is a commanding officer looks like the pillsbury doughgirl...yes the guys who are there to do fighting have a disconnect. The ones who are there for the VHA and day care center, not so much.

The WW2 era tan trousers had a pinkish hue in some lighting conditions.

I worked for a CW3 who might very well have served under Black Jack Pershing. He used to tell me stories about his days in the “brown shoe” Army. Great guy. He had so many connections he could get just about anything our outfit needed.

“What do those chevrons on the sleeve of the General signify?”

Each chevron represents six months service in a WWI combat zone.

I have pictures of my Dad in his Pink and Greens during WW II. I agree with you. I suppose sentiment plays a part in my thinking but regardless, those were sharp looking uniforms.

Yet to see where the “Pink” figures into this. Uniforms do not look bad, nowhere near as spiffy as USMC uniforms.

See pictures of WWII pinks & greens at link at my post #55 .

“Pinks and Greens” would be better than everyone wearing desert cammys instead of class A uniforms. And I hope they include the Ike Jacket.

Always thought the pinks were a nicer uniform. The khakis were ok, but my favorite was the jungle fatigues.

The Army needs to knock it off; I think the pinks and green look great, but unfortunately, it will give my old branch (the USAF) ideas, and virtually all of our uniform changes have been unmitigated disasters.

If only khakis would come back as a Class B uniform. Knowing the Army, they’d goober it up with polyester and velcro though.

I’ll never see it. On final approach to retirement this spring. I’m okay with that though. After I was asked if I attended the mandatory transgender integration brief, I came to the following conclusion:

It’s not my Army anymore.

What is more surprising is that many on FR don’t seem to know any US history.
