The Army needs to knock it off; I think the pinks and green look great, but unfortunately, it will give my old branch (the USAF) ideas, and virtually all of our uniform changes have been unmitigated disasters.

I like the look but not the name.

This is great news. I cringe every time I see Army soldiers in downtown Denver wearing combat fatigues. Compared to the other services the Army guys look sloppy. We need a uniform between combat fatigues and dress blues and it looks like we’re finally getting one.

Pinks and greens? World War II retro?

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!!!

And a big raspberry/Bronx cheer to all you FReepers who are going off on this idea, even though you don’t know anything about the history of military uniforms.

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!!! I would reup if I wasn’t pushing 61!

They should bring back Ike jackets while they’re at it.

I was fortunate enough to serve from 1977-85, so at least at the beginning of my tour we had khaki Class B’s and green fatigues.

Both uniforms were simple but businesslike.

Then they went to the pale green shirt worn with Class A trousers. Not awful, but I missed my khakis every single day.

As for the Battle Dress Uniform, the shapeless “tree suit” wasn’t exactly a treat compared with the old green fatigues.
Absolutely hated this uniform. At least with the fatigues you could tuck your shirt and look like a squared-away soldier.
