The field is mainly dipolar

All magnetic fields are bipolar.  This is a consequence of Gauss's law of magnetism which is also the second of Maxwell's equations of electricity and magnetism.

All magnetic fields are the sum of one or more magnetic bipolar fields.

Cool. Now I just need two meters of soil on the roof to protect against cosmic rays. I wonder if there are still any of those old Atlas missile silos available. A couple meters of reinforced concrete covered with even more earth and equipped with shock isolated floors. Protects against zombies, global warming, global cooling, ozone holes, cosmic rays and neighbors with yip yip dogs. Some say that if you fit the original blast doors they can even keep out liberals.
