Fox and Friends and My Concerns

Posted on 11/01/2004 3:45:19 AM PST by 7thson

Got a call from my wife. Rendall is spinning on Fox and Friends that the Bin Laden tape proves that Kerry is the one to get him and that 1000 troops died in vain. Early results in Iowa show a 51-43 percent Kerry lead. I do not like this early voting. Gives the Dems a chance to mysteriously catch up and make up the dif.

More people claim to be Conservatives that those that claim to be Liberals. It used to be the case that a heavy voter turnout favored Democrats because there were more Democrats than Republicans, that is not the case any more. That is why the Democrats are working so hard to suppress the Republican vote!

Re threat against States that vote for Bush:

MONSTER'S DEADLY WARNING TO 'RED' STATES

By NILES LATHEM

November 1, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - Osama bin Laden warned in his October Surprise video that he will be closely monitoring the state-by-state election returns in tomorrow's presidential race — and will spare any state that votes against President Bush from being attacked, according to a new analysis of his statement.

The respected Middle East Media Research Institute, which monitors and translates Arabic media and Internet sites, said initial translations of a key portion of bin Laden's video rant to the American people Friday night missed an ostentatious bid by the Saudi-born terror master to divide American voters and tilt the election towards Democratic challenger John Kerry.

MEMRI said radical Islamist commentators monitored over the Internet this past weekend also interpreted the key passage of bin Laden's diatribe to mean that any U.S. state that votes to elect Bush on Tuesday will be considered an "enemy" and any state that votes for Kerry has "chosen to make peace with us."

The statement in question is when bin Laden said on the tape: "Your security is up to you, and any state that does not toy with our security automatically guarantees its own security." That sentence followed a lengthy passage in the video in which bin Laden launches personal attacks on the president. Yigal Carmon, president of MEMRI, said bin Laden used the Arabic term "ay-wilaya" to refer to a "state" in that sentence. That term "specifically refers to an American state, like Tennessee," Carmon said, adding that if bin Laden were referring to a "country" he would have used the Arabic word "dawla."

MEMRI also translated an analysis of bin Laden's statement from the Islamist Web site al-Qal'a, well known for posting al-Qaeda messages, which agreed that bin Laden's use of the word "ay-wilaya" was meant as a "warning to every U.S state separately."

"It means that any U.S. state that will choose to vote for the white thug Bush as president, it means that it chose to fight us and we will consider it an enemy to us, and any state that will vote against Bush, it means that it chose to make peace with us and we will not characterize it as an enemy," the Web site said, according to MEMRI's translation.

If 120 million Americans vote in this election it means heavy
turnout in the heavy population areas,(major cities) with large minority numbers. There is no way that can be good news
for Republicans.

There ain't that many votes to turn out in Montana, Utah,
or Idaho.

the Bin Laden tape proves that Kerry is the one to get him

Wouldn't have been MUCH easier to do away with OBL had Klinton grabbed him on one of the 3 times the Sudanese Gov't. offered him to the US????

The RATS were not successful in my county in Iowa. Rs had about 600 requests for absentee ballots, Is had 500 and Ds had 400. As of last Fri. night, Rs also had the highest percentage of those returned.

Fox had a piece about the early voting in Florida. Election board members were going over around 200 absentee ballots for errors. Of this small sampling, 150 were thrown out because of no signature, another 8 were thrown out because the signature did not ever resemble the sig on record.

Frightening.

Early voting numbers are crap. The Kerry Spot analyzed one of these...this Iowa report, iirc. Bottom line, Kerry was leading by 14 votes. Votes ! It means less than nothing.

THERE AREN"T ENOUGH POLL WORKERS to have everyone show up on election day.....

The lines on tuesday will be bad enough.... imagine 25-50% more voters on Tuesday...

As it is these are basically senior citizens who volunteer to run things..
no way this could be handled without early or absentee voting

The only way we're going to get Osama at this point is if the Iranians turn him over voluntarily. I'm convinced they've got him, and we aren't going in after him no matter who's President.

The View? I found that to be one of the worst shows on TV. Will never watch it again.

Even Elizabeth Haselback? She spoke at the RNC and her husband (some football player) has endorsed Bush!

Rush has discussed this on his show, I will guess he will today. It does not mean that the turnout will be heavy in cities, if the Demwitocrat voters in cities stay home, adn the repubs come out that can still = heavy turnout.

Anyway, the dems don't really beieve they are going to win. If Kerry did he woulld have resigned his senate seat.

Here's my take on heavy turnout....

Imagine you're a 20 year old college student who generally doesn't care about politics but went to a rally to see P.Diddy and he told you to vote. You show up on election day and the lines are really long. The wait could be 3-4 hours, maybe more. You have a big paper to write and a test to study for. Do you stay in line waiting to vote or do you give up??

I think a lot of the apathetic sKerry supporters would be more inclined to walk away than to stand in line for a long time. Especially if it's cold outside or the weather is bad.

We no longer live in a one-person-one-vote democracy.

How right you are. The government of the people, by the peole and for the people has been replaced by a government of the party, by the party and for the party.

The Des Moines register couldn't find a fact if it was running through the newsroom naked. Translated (It's all over folks. We've decided who won. Don't bother to vote.)

Well that is a good take, but also remember that Republicans have been registering new voters too, and that in 2000 something like 8,000,000 Christians stayed home because they felt GWB wasn't Christian enough, not the case this time, they are coming out in drives and are motivated.

So in other words, for the sake of convenience, we give up our democracy.

Not enough poll workers...

... so it's ok for RATS to vote early, vote often...
