Colin Powell will RUN FOR PRESIDENT. I put $100 on it, any takers?

If Powell wanted to be President he would have run in 1996 or 2000. He was the only Republican in 1996 who polled ahead of Clinton.

"IF" I had a $100.00 to bet I would take you on. I do not believe he will run, he really has no base.

I remember his wife is dead set against his running, otherwise he would have already. We'll see.

I don't think Colin Powell will run for president - his wife will not let him. She hates the idea and he's not too keen on it either.

Let us hope he does not go over to the dark side.

I'd take the bet if it was 10X as much. There's no way he'll run for President. He's a soldier, and a darn good one. Not a politician. He's not the type to jet from one city to another day after day raising money. He's been a good SoS and I think he's ready to leave Washington to get back to his family. He's not going to be back in public life unless it's something minor and/or ceremonial. Ambassador, maybe.

But Prez? Never.

His wife had a bad dream about him being either pres or vice president where he got shot. She will not agree to him doing either job.
