Did anyone tivo the Don Imus show this morning and if you did please go back and see if I was wrong and heard Bob Schiefer of CBS say that Bush was govenor twice and elected President once, which would mean that he did not think that Bush won the first election in 2000.
More likely an early sign of dementia.
Hope he did and that he repeats it often. Only one person's credibility suffers as a result and it isn't Dubyas.
On the plus side, if he's only been elected once, we get to elect him again in 2008. That would fry the libs :)

He was speaking in the past, saying that at the time of the 60 Minutes story in September, Bush had been elected governor twice and president once, and therefore the issue of his TXANG service was a non-issue

I heard it and I also heard him put the bogus docs in the same category as the Swift Boat Vets for Truth.
Poor old Bob Schiefer, cbs has once more sent him out to do the "splaining". That makes two or three times now. Schiefer has been on every show that would take him for the past three days. Rather? hiding behind the "anchor desk" .Say what you may about Schiefer, he does have guts. Of course interviews like the one with Hannity are more more of a love fest than an interview.

I saw it. He was referring to the point in time of memogate. BTW, it's "Schieffer."
Due respect, I took that to mean he wished that other issues could have been discussed during the campaign. W's Guard service and fKerry's Nam service were old news, according to Schieffer.

I heard part of the show, but missed that quote. Scheiffer was busy trying not to offend Rather, CBS, and the rest of the PC left.
I agree. I just took Schieffer as wishing those things had not been campaign issue #1.
Schieffer is a Democrat Party hack. His opinions are laughable.
Hmm, looks as if I should have listened to the entire piece. How come nobody mentions CBS and Rather's lies about GW's supposed attempts to avoid Vietnam duty...when in fact, there's proof he tried to go but was told no since he couldn't fly whatever planes they were using at the time in combat.
He did tell Imus that things "are bad" at CBS. I don't believe anyone could expect him to through himself into the middle of the controversy while appearing on an NBC TV/CBS owned radio program. Schieffer's been around long enough to know it's keep-your-head-down time. I like the guy.
He is afraid to come right out and criticize Kerry so he adds the Swift Boat Vets for Truth in the mix.

I believe he and the rest of the CBS folks are running scared, deservedly so.
Schiefer...time to retire. I heard him on hannity last week and he was not putting the blame on the rathergate where it belonged which is dan rather. He wouldn't commit to it so they are all the same. Old, stale, musty and time to hit the rocking chair.
President Bush was Governor twice, President Twice. Like it or not Schiefer...that's the fact. What jealous old twit. I thank God every day my heart isn't filled with the vile, venemous hatred these people have. Bitter, angry old men...him and rather. Better them than me.
