PRESERVED T. Rex Soft Tissue RECOVERED (Pic)

WASHINGTON — For more than a century, the study of dinosaurs has been limited to fossilized bones. Now, researchers have recovered 70-million-year-old soft tissue, including what may be blood vessels and cells, from a Tyrannosaurus rex.

If scientists can isolate proteins from the material, they may be able to learn new details of how dinosaurs lived, said lead researcher Mary Higby Schweitzer of North Carolina State University.

"We're doing a lot of stuff in the lab right now that looks promising,'' she said in a telephone interview. But, she said, she does not know yet if scientists will be able to isolate dinosaur DNA from the materials.

The soft tissues were recovered from the thighbone of a T. rex, known as MOR 1125, that was found in a sandstone formation in Montana. The dinosaur was about 18 years old when it died.

People don't want to hear that.

It might destroy their godless hypothesis.

Maybe 5,000 or 6,000?

There's a fellow who has bread back modern cattle to give us an Aurachs type critter, but it's not nearly as big.

The originals weighed in at 6,000 to 8,000 pounds.

The whole thing is on the net. I first read it several decades back.

Whether or not the items reported are impossible or not depends, to some degree, on how you interpret Sumerian.

Much more is known about the language these days.

Actually, the "historic record" of almost everybody who lived before 538 AD is pretty thin stuff.

Why couldn't soft tissues survive 70 million years?

Wonk, put up or shut up: cite Bible chapter and verse where it defines whether or not Adam was created 'a full-grown man'. If no-can-do, then concede oremites' point.

God doesn't have to come out and say the exact words that non-believers demand to still have said them. You can sit back and demand to be shown the word trinity but all you do is close yourself to what the bible says. Jesus often criticized people for not understanding what the bible said to them though it was not said clearly. The 7 brothers marrying the same girl is a good example. He criticized them for not reading closely and reading between the lines.

So are you people saying the bible says that Adam was created as an infant? I'll argue that as much as I'll argue that God is male. Not at all.

My sons would like to know that too. Dino's were the first animals they 'hunted' when they got big enough for toy guns.

"Why couldn't soft tissues survive 70 million years?"

Tell me, you're not serious, are you?

This is a joke, right?

"Why couldn't soft tissues survive 70 million years?"

I can't resist.

Tell me how soft tissue COULD survive for 70 million years.

That's an interpretation. The Bible simply does not say Adam was a mature, adult male at the time of his creation.

Now, if you want an interpetation, let's take a look at Jesus, the "Second Adam". He came as a child and was cared for by His mother.

Hmmmm.

Was the Second Adam a lesser sort of being than the First Adam?

No, I'm asking you for a complete and scientific explanation of the processes that PROHIBIT preservation of soft-tissues over 70 million years.

You can start any time you wish.

I'm afraid you are now faced with an example of such tissues, so tell me why the scientists now studying those tissues are delusional.

We have a sample of such tissues.

It was unexpected.

A single sample is sufficient to say "Hey, baby, it happens".

Your assertion to the contrary is the one that requires some other sort of evidence.

Sorry, but you're both wrong. The universe is just over 43 years old. It came into existance when I was born, simply for my convenience. I'm afraid that are all part of a figment of my imagination, and I'm sorry to tell you that your existance will end when ever I happen to die.

That was the basis for a really good twilight zone episode.

A complete hoax. I viewed this at a Chinese buffet restaurant. It was languishing in an aluminum pan, between the pork fried rice and the General Chung's chicken.

It's kinda hard to have 'dominion' over the animals if you AIN'T mature.

Actually, it's pretty hard to have 'dominion' over animals even if you are mature. Have you ever owned a cat?

I have no problem with those who believe in creation. I also have no problem with evolution. If in fact you believe in an all powerful God then there is no reason to doubt that after creating the world he may want to tinker with it at his own sweet pace. The problem with too many is that they lack the patience and timelessness that a supreme being would have. They need to put everything in a human time frame. I doubt that things work that way. There are somrthings that we will just never know for sure.
