WASHINGTON For more than a century, the study of dinosaurs has been limited to fossilized bones. Now, researchers have recovered 70-million-year-old soft tissue, including what may be blood vessels and cells, from a Tyrannosaurus rex.
If scientists can isolate proteins from the material, they may be able to learn new details of how dinosaurs lived, said lead researcher Mary Higby Schweitzer of North Carolina State University.
"We're doing a lot of stuff in the lab right now that looks promising,'' she said in a telephone interview. But, she said, she does not know yet if scientists will be able to isolate dinosaur DNA from the materials.
The soft tissues were recovered from the thighbone of a T. rex, known as MOR 1125, that was found in a sandstone formation in Montana. The dinosaur was about 18 years old when it died.

One last thought, Adam would not have aged (no curse) and died (no wages of sin) if he hadn't disobeyed God. But, of course, God knew that he would disobey.
Also, since there was no aging or death in the Garden of Eden, how long was Adam there before he ate the fruit and was thrown out. An hour? A week? A year? 100 years? 10,000 years? 1,000,000 years?

Neither of you have any basis to decide that Gilgamesh was not an historical person. An actual Gilgamesh may have existed, as might have an actual Odysseus. However, their epic stories are probably about 99% myth.

But... dinos don't LIVE in the desert, but in marshy areas. Wherever did you get that idea? Dinosaurs pretty much lived in every environment on Earth.

You can't be serious!
LOL!
You really believe that "soft tissue" can survive 70 MILLION years!!!
It's SHEER impossible.
Hint,
HOW long does HUMAN soft tissue last in the elements ?

>>The young earth crowd, as you call it, IS right. Don't believe the athiest-liberal-darwinist garbage.<<
Believe it or not, I lean towards "young earth." However, I do not want to get caught making the same mistake the early church did when they believed the earth was the center of the universe.
The Bible is not as specific on this stuff as many of us would need it to be for us to sate our beliefs on this subject as fact. It is only my opinion.

You forgot to point out that much of the ToE is based on extant organisms. Fossils are just one verification not the whole kit and kaboodle.
Ain't this just the most fun?

LOL!
Ask ANY forensic person if "soft tissue" can survive "70 million years". Or just ask a policeman how long human soft tissue lasts in the elements.
GEESH!

"HOW long does HUMAN soft tissue last in the elements ?" You have just given a good explanation why fossils are so rare - the elements. Have you ever heard of human bodies kept in relatively good shape by peat bogs?
This is an example of what can happen when organisms die and are immediately removed from the elements.
BTW, contrary to popular belief many fossils are found not completely mineralized.

Dinos gotta eat SOMETHING, and deserts barely let scrawny cows and goats live.

Dinos gotta eat SOMETHING, and deserts barely let scrawny cows and goats live. Animals live in the desert now. Camels, goats, birds, canines, cats, lizards etc. etc. Dinosaurs used to fill many of those niches back when they were still around.
Anyway, 'desert' doesn't just refer to the barren Sahara (which still supports a decent amount of life). There are plenty of less extreme desert environments. Look at the American Southwest, which is a pretty diverse eco-system.

Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull.
Betrayed by the apostle Judas, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, and loss of blood.
Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, was a member of the house of David. He was the Son of the late Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, and Mary, His devoted Mother. Jesus was born in a stable in the city of Bethlehem, Judea. He is survived by His mother Mary, His faithful Apostles, numerous disciples, and many other followers.
Jesus was self educated and spent most of his adult life working as a Teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a Medical Doctor and it is reported that he healed many patients. Up until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor.
Jesus was most noted for telling parables about His Father`s Kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and healing a man who was born blind. On the day before His death, He held a Last Supper celebrating the Passover Feast, at which He foretold His death.
The body was quickly buried in a stone grave, which was donated by Joseph of Arimathea, a loyal friend of the family. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were put on guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did. Donations may be sent to anyone in need.

But, of course, God knew that he would disobey.
Of course. If God is omniscient and omnipotent, he knew exactly what would happen. God, the designer, created an organism upon which he placed restrictions he knew could not be followed. When the organism functioned as designed it was punished. Hard love, God-style.
I think I'll try that myself - make a ball of paper, tell it not to fall to the ground, then drop it from 4 feet and see what happens. It's gonna be one sorry ball of paper if it touches the ground!
