Jackson Lee urges Perry to 'disinvite' Minutemen (to Texas)

Congresswoman says more workers should be hired to patrol borders

- U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, called for Gov. Rick Perry to ask the Minutemen not to expand militia patrols of the U.S.-Mexico border from Arizona to Texas.

"I urge the governor to disinvite the Minuteman Project. Ask them not to come here," Jackson Lee said Sunday.

The group has posted volunteers in Arizona to alert authorities to illegal immigrants crossing the border.

Organizers have expressed an interest in recruiting in Texas and beginning patrols along the Rio Grande in October.

Jackson Lee said she sees it as the "dereliction of duty" by the federal government not to have improved staffing in customs and the border patrol.

She said she will advocate that money be increased to hire more workers to patrol the borders.

Sheila Jackson Lee is the worse excuse for a Congresswoman, that Texas has ever seen. She is an abomination to the halls of Congress. Somebody needs to tell her to keep her BIG MOUTH shut.

But, knowing Perry, he will probably kiss her b*tt!

I hope every one of you will call AND e-mail AND fax your position to this Congresswoman. Let her know that she took an oath of office to protect our rights. See link for e-mail below and BE NICE BUT FIRM!:

Homeland Security: Congresswoman Jackson-Lee has been working hard in the Science and Judiciary Committees to help design a Department of Homeland Security, to make America safe from terrorism and simultaneously protect the dedicated employees that will make it possible. She pushed legislation to improve the ability of the Immigration and Naturalization Services to keep out dangerous individuals, while continuing to facilitate access for those individuals desiring legalization.

Yeah, why have volunteers do it for free when you can stick the taxpayers with a larger bill?

Not only that, but Minutemen don't play the politics game.

"I urge the governor to disinvite the Minuteman Project. Ask them not to come here," Jackson Lee said Sunday.

Most of the Texas border is private property. It is private citizens that have invited the Minutemen to patrol their private property. It isn't the governor's invite to "dis".

Jackson Lee should get a "disinvite" when her number comes up for reelection.

Think that would send a strong enough message that she made a stupid statement?

If she ain't smart now, which it seems she isn't judging from her comment, she won't get it then.

Duh ... Shelia ...

"I urge the governor to disinvite the Minuteman Project"

Illiterate, as usual. I nicknamed her Sheila Malaprop over 10 years ago.

Cardinal4 urges Jackson-Lee to p*ss up a rope..

Umm...in my experience, women aren't very good at that. What's more, Camille Paglia agrees with me.

If you have an idea on how to get the Beltway behemoth motivated into doing it's job, I want to hear it. Nothing else seems to work, except for about a six week stretch at election time.

It says right on the back of my Texas hunting license that I have to
process and be accountable for all game animals taken in the state.

"Hurricane names are too 'lily white'"
( 8/3/2003 ) The congressional newspaper the Hill reported this week that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) feels that the current names are too "lily white," and is seeking to have better representation for names reflecting African-Americans and other ethnic groups.

"All racial groups should be represented," Lee said, according to the Hill. She hoped federal weather officials "would try to be inclusive of African-American names."

A sampling of popular names that could be used include Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn, according to the paper.

Weekly Jackass Number Twelve: Sheila Jackson Lee

Sheila Jackson Lee, for those who don't know, represents the Eighteenth Congressional District of Texas in the U.S. House. Lee is the consummate publicity seeker, ready to hype any perceived outrage, no matter how ridiculous, to the extreme, and never missing a chance to get in front of the cameras. Her official homepage is a solute to narcissism, consisting of Lee standing in front of various podiums and adopting the cause of the day. It's also a tribute to the decline of writing skills - read this and tell me if you have the slightest idea what it means:

...the Congresswoman has periodically enumerated the deficiencies of the State of Texas under the President’s leadership and can now share a detailed history of the weaknesses of the current federal Administration. Her current focus in the 108th Congress is to promote the characteristics of a prospective Administration necessary to serve the nation.

Or try this passage:

...she has distinguished herself as a staunch defender of the Constitution, civil rights and juvenile justice, protection of America's health needs, gun safety and responsibility, economic empowerment for low and middle income America. In addition, the Congresswoman has been out-spoken [sic] on human rights issues.

We're working to get them reclassified from game animals to nuisance varmints.
Like wild hogs or coyotes. Or rats.
