Dissent - even when that dissent strays from logic or humanity - is our life’s blood. But if you have one of those opinions, and you express it in public, honesty and self-respect require you to own up to it.

I don't think he really felt Cindy had no son etc...but that didn't sound good.
Agreed, Rush did say she was like Burkett and that her story was like the forged papers. It's those on the left that are taking that to mean Rush feels that Shehann is lying about her even having a son or that her son died. Rush's statement was poorly stated, and because of this, it has been taken wrong...and the left is running with it...la

I would think that someone in his organisation would have the security to tell him so, and he would spend a few minutes on the air explaining just what it was he really meant to say. It could have just blown right over.
This guy's viewership is almost down to the # of freshmen students I teach annually.

Well, IMHO, Rush was infering that the woman has gone the way of Burkett, a story being directed by the extreme left of the DNC. She now attends meetings with Conyers, and speaks regulary with the leftist of their party on daily talking points. Sure she lost her son, and sure that is tragic, but now her story has turned into the forged papers...all made up.
Does she honestly believe that she is owed the right to meet with the president, or is that coming from people like Bill Press and Michael Moore? Does she really feel that the fighting in Iraq is for Isreal or is that coming from the folks over at Move-On.org? Now that would almost make sense, her attempt to change the facts after the event could almost be stretched into "forged documents" - good thinking, Steve ... too bad Rush didn't word it so that you don't have to guess what it was he really meant.

Treading on thin ice when presenting an opinion that dosen't agree with you is equated with forgery.
I would say that expressing crazy opinions, like we are fighting in Iraq for the Israelis is a little bit different then presenting documents purporting to prove that we are.

I understood it the same way Steve did. Perhaps if you weren't such a Rush hater, and tried to listen to him once in awhile, you might get it too. The only posts I ever see from you are slamming Rush. Personally, I think you are an ignorant, pretentious and pompous dunderhead who knows nothing about anything.
