Apologies if this has already been posted. It
is an older article, and I searched the title....
I'd imagine the technogeniuses we got around here already know this....the article, though somewhat long, speculates on the "CNN effect", which is interesting and frightening at the same time.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, as you watch the following video tape, taken from a video camera located in the local grocery store, you can see that the defendent did in fact, walk up to the store owner and shoot him in cold blood. This is why we are calling for a penalty of death for this case.
Buuhh, buhhh.... I was home at the time.. REally!!!

What sets the Witt demo apart-way apart-is that the technology used to "virtually delete" the skater can now be applied in real time, live, even as a camera records a scene and instantly broadcasts it to viewers. In the fraction of a second between video frames, any person or object moving in the foreground can be edited out, and objects that aren't there can be edited in and made to look real. "Pixel plasticity," Livingston calls it. The implication for those at the satellite imagery conference was sobering: Pictures from orbit may not necessarily be what the satellite's electronic camera actually recorded.A whole new twist on "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?"

Statement From Article:"...Imagine a tape of virtual Pakistani tanks rolling over the border into India pitched to news outlets as authentic, and you get a feel for the kind of trouble that deceptive imagery could stir up...."
Comment: I can imagine the MSM doing this to create an incident, to boost interest, to boost ratings resultingin increased revenue.

This will end up killing the use of video or pictures as evidence in a court of law.

Okay, so video is no longer any more reliable than oil painting as evidence.
Until some genius comes up with something else.

Seriously, I don't buy this. Technically, I would like to see it first, and also the results of expert analysis of the images...
Great confusion factor by the sandmaggots, though.
One can't underestimate the level of competence and intelligence of the bulk of the American people.
