Senator Jay Rockefeller Gave Syria Advance Warning Of Iraq War Intentions! (FNS Transcript)
Fox News Sunday (Transcript) ^ | 14 November 2005

WALLACE: ...in October of 2002 in which you authorized the use of force, you went further than the president ever did. Let's watch:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROCKEFELLER: I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11th that question is increasingly outdated.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WALLACE: Now, the president never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?

ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

Now, the intelligence that they had and the intelligence that we had were probably different. We didn't get the presidential daily briefs. We got only a finished product, a finished product, a consensual view of the intelligence community, which does not allow for agencies — like in the case of the aluminum tubes, the Department of Energy said these aren't thick enough to handle nuclear power.

They left that out and went ahead with, "They have aluminum tubes and they're going to develop nuclear power."

WALLACE: Senator, you're quite right. You didn't get the presidential daily brief or the senior executive intelligence brief. You got the national intelligence estimate.

But the Silberman commission, a presidential commission that looked into this, did get copies of those briefs, and they say that they were, if anything, even more alarmist, even less nuanced, than the intelligence you saw...

I just called the Senate offices for Pat Roberts, Norm Coleman (MN - my senator) & Bill Frist, and asked/demanded that the GOP should press treason charges against Jay Rockefeller. Also I called Jay Rockefeller's Senate number and asked his office secretary to pass my lambast along to him. At least I felt better to unleash on the cowardly B@$t@#ds.

I told a friend today that I have come to despise the US Senate.

Maybe it's time to take their selection away from the American people and give it back to state legislatures so they can go back to doing what they're supposed to do, that is, represent the states in the federal government?

Democrats are disgusting beyond words. Repubs would never stoop this low during a dem administration. The only thing that saves the dems from total political annihilation is the MSM.

Each week that passes, I become more and more of a Chris Wallace fan. He's im my estimation, one of the best.

He'll use his position and good graces to ask tough, uncomfortable questions of Conservatives as well as the Dems.

He gave Rummie a good grilling, (which Rummie loves anyway).

I just think World of Wallace right now. Wish there more many more like him.

I live in WV. I read 3 state newspapers per day. Not ONE word about this in any of our papers, nor on our news telecasts. Of course, the state is 2:1 Dims, and the media is among them.

Sad....

I'm with you!

Here's one that you can fax and e-mail:

A Bill
Resolution of Censure of Jay Rockefeller

Whereas on Nov. 13, 2005 during a nationally televised interview, Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia
admitted to taking it upon himself to visit the countries of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria in January of 2002
whereupon he "told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind
to go to war against Iraq."

And whereas Senator Jay Rockefeller also told those heads of state "that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11."

RESOLVED: That the Senator from West Virginia, Jay Rockefeller, failed to maintain proper public ethical standards by impugning the ethics of a sitting President of the United States.

His behavior on Nov. 13, 2005, in which he made allegations against the President, WITHOUT GIVING ANY EVIDENCE, betrayed the necessary good conduct as a Senator, affected the honor of the Senate, and that this conduct of the Senator from West Virginia, Mr. Rockefeller, is contrary to senatorial traditions
and is hereby condemned.

Again, e-mail and fax it to your senators.

Let them know that it's time to send a CLEAR AND STRONG MESSAGE!!!!

Yes - there was plenty of time to move the WMD out of Iraq not just for what Senator Rockefeller said to warn them, but because President Bush had to go to the UN to speak his argument for the reasons for war because of Tony Blair!

Blair wanted to have that meeting with the UN (knowing they would not approve) because Blair didn't want problems with his government and citizens that he had agreed to a preemptive strike with the US!

Saddam had plenty of time to bury or transfer the WMDs. before we actually engaged in the war (I believe it was around six months!)

Sounds to me like Chris is not a chip off his old man's block. Which is good

I was laughing at the pictures in my head of daddy having apoplexy watching his son in this cross examination of Rockefeller.
