Cambell is faltering, John and Ken are on a rampage for being duped by Campbell, the polls are "neck and neck" with the undecideds breaking for Gilchrist.
I am cold, exhausted and I got a "dear Jane" email because the boy friend has lost patience with my "little hobby."
Say a prayer for us. God Bless the Minutemen And God Bless the United States of America.
Jim and Supporters. What fun is is doing "meet and greet" with Jim. People walk up say "It is an honor to meet you, sir." And "Thank you for what you are doing."
Legal Immigrant from Mexico.
Simcox and Gilchrist with a supporter.
Working the booth at Corona Del Mar
Minutemen (note the cell phones)
Dave Halpin from AZ with his wife, Jim and his wife Sandy.
Jim with a Ronald Reagan attorney, his first name is Don, did not get the last name, sorry.
At the office:
Although I can't speak for this campaign, local and congressional campaigns rarely have enough money to do their own polling. So unless a media outlet has released a recent poll, I would doubt there are any poll numbers.
I'm a resident of California. When I start spouting the party line about events in your State of Massachusetts, then I'll be a hack, too. Until then, you're on your own.
The ultra-liberal SFChronicle is doing a poll on the MInutemen. Are they a.)_ patriotic citizens, or b.) dangerous vigalantes? Check in with your two cents at http://www.sfgate.com
"Gilchrist has changed the course of politics on the issue of illegal immigration. And he did that as a private citizen. For that he should be applauded."
AND HE DID THAT AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN is exactly what the founding concept of representative government means: government by, for and of the People - the citizens.
NOT cultivating career politicians!
My point is that Gilchrist is great, on one issue. We need more well rounded representatives.
"My point is that Gilchrist is great, on one issue. We need more well rounded representatives."
Please advise me who among elected Republicans is well-rounded and bravely out-spoken? Other than Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller, of course. Oh, they are Democrats? Braver than Republicans?
Gilchrist's "one issue" is a very relevant one which covers a myriad of urgent national security and economic problems.
People vote on name recognition. Gilchrist is not finished - he is just beginning.
We shall see. Gilchrist has accomplished more as a private citizen than any elected official on illegal immigration, and I think he can do much more as a private citizen than if he were elected to office. He should keep fanning the flames of the fire he has started. By running for office he taints himself with the cynicism directed at politicians. As an elected representative he becomes one voice among many, and he becomes unfocused from the issue of illegal immigration.
The Minutemen poll will be running for two more days. Go to "NEws and Features" on teh left side ofthe screen, and you'll see "POlls." http://www,sfgate.com
