I read plenty of Minuteman blogs of some scary situations to know that fully armed, ready, and willing participants are not "precisely" like unarmed citizens calling police from cellphones to report dangerous drivers ; )

In Texas and several other states, it's quite possible that the caller will be armed. Especially since the legislature finally defined traveling as being in a vehicle going somewhere,( You do not need a CHL to have a handgun in your vehicle if you are traveling, but until last year, traveling wasn't defined, and many police, sheriffs and judges got creative with their own personal definitions.)

I really wish you and your type would give up whatever you do and move to the forefront if this war. You both have the passion and the ability to express it that we need to wake up the sleeping masses.

I think one more item needs to be added.

Fix the immigration process. It takes way too long and costs way too much. I'm not talking about waiting periods or periods of legal residency before being able to apply for citizenship, I'm talking too long to get the paperwork processed. This applies to all the folks trying to go through the process legally, and even such obvious cases as the foreign Spouses of American citizens. (Two of my brothers in law are married to "Russian" ladies, and the paperwork and bureaucracy is almost beyond belief. A cousin of my wife is married to an Italian lady, actually Sicilian, he's a federal agent and he still has all those difficulties. (He met her when he was serving in the US Navy BTW). Imagine you're a twenty something Mexican national, with no prospects, and wish to go to the US to get work. Would you be willing to wait years to get your application even acted upon? I don't think so.

And of course our failure to enforce and administer our own laws in a reasonable manner only encourages the sort of contempt we are seeing in these protests. (Of course stirring the pot by ANSWR and their ilk, along with others such as LaRaza, most of them very left wing, doesn't help matters either).

As much as the actions of the illegal alien protesters appalls me, one has to remember that there are two sides to every question, and the other side might not be 100% wrong or evil. At minimum one must understand their motivations if one is to change their behavior. Think of it as the "intelligence preparation of the battlefield".

"Oh yea I get it you mean like General William T. Sherman USA. Yes his march to the sea was very civilized indeed"

Sherman's objective was to punish the South and beat them into submission. There were no laws or regulations at the time to prevent him doing what he did. Times have changed.

"Virtually none of which having the accomplishments he has achieved. He is an effective communicator, and a competent analyst, all in the context of someone who has "been there, and done that.""

You know what all the military folks on this site have done during their careers? And take a look a Travis' recent posting history. You call THAT effective communication. Try S-P-A-M. And he refused to debate anyone who disagreed with him. He simply resorted to calling them names.

"If his history does not excuse his recent performance"

He was asked specifically by the owner of this site to knock off his antics. He was even given a temporary time out as a less than subtle hint. He ignored it all. I don't care what kind of saint a person has been...when he proves he can no longer follow the rules, he gets to pay the price.

"Wrong. Above all is "the objective." The rest is a dog and pony show. If one officer can not achieve the objective under the rules of engagement, he will be replaced by one that can circumvent those rules more effectively."

And with that, you PROVE you have no familiarity with military operations. None. Military officers are not rewarded for circumventing rules of engagement. They are fired. Or thrown in jail depending on what rules they violated. What in your mind could possibly lead you to believe you are qualified to lecture on matters of military operations?

"Your concluding statement strongly indicates questionable understanding."

Congratulations. You've posted one of the least coherent statements I've read on FreeRepublic in recent memory. But don't worry, you quickly outdid yourself with this one..."The point of which was if you want a job done, but can't do it for yourself, leave the man that can do it to do it." Of course, since you were obviously on a roll, your next two sentences make even less sense. But I'm not going to repost them because I'm afraid whatever ailment you have might be catching. Honestly, I think reading the last portion of your post actually drained some of my intelligence.

Since you seem to be the only one to really object to TG's so called spam, me thinketh you complaineth too much to be an innocent bystander poster.

As far as name calling goes I get it from the elite RNC operative freepers all the time. I'm getting to kind of like it, it reminds me of how nasty the Republican party has become to it's majority of voters.

Well, me and the owner of this site apparently. That puts me in pretty good company.

"it reminds me of how nasty the Republican party has become to it's majority of voters"

Then you better become a democrat. They are never nasty to anyone like you.

LOL. Well the good news is, if it was later than the promised delivery time, you got it sent for free. I just hope it wasn't cheese or brats.

Bush's phenomenal strength has been a vision for how to defeat Islamofascism, and his blind spot has been the borders/illegals.

Since 9/11, our nation has allowed 500,000 (roughly 100,00 per year according to the #s from the agency that was formerly the INS) new Muslim immigrants to settle here legally. If we assume that the religion of peace rhetoric is actually true (and I don't), and 90% of these Muslims are friendly, eager to assimilate, and love America...that still leaves 10%, or 50,000 terrorists or terrorists sympathizers who have been given legal license to come to America by our own policies.

Don't like the percentages? Fair enough. Let's say that 99% are peace loving and 1% aren't. That's 5,000 new terrorists.

No president is perfect. Name me one ELECTABLE candidate who is for 100% deportation and I'll vote for him and, no, it would not be Tancredo nationally.

Why wouldn't it be Tancredo nationally? Is the supreme court going to intervene should we wish to nominate and elect the man and prevent us from doing so? Or will we surrender to prevailing wisdom (much of which comes from the MSM) and not begin to fight?

If the Republican party doesn't want Tom Tancredo that's one thing. It's a small matter to say, "We are too liberal a party to nominate a candidate who will oppose guest workers, oppose amnesty, and deport illegal aliens" if that accurately reflects the truth.

If not, don't surrender your good ideas because it's someone's opinion that you must.

Sherman's objective was to punish the South and beat them into submission. There were no laws or regulations at the time to prevent him doing what he did. Times have changed.

In a way they have changed. Those engaging us in war no longer understand what Sherman and many others did. There is no such thing as a kinder gentler war. Trying to fight a war as such is actually immoral and goes against Judeo/Christian teachings. Am I making this up? No it's spelled out clearly in the Bible the boundaries of war. Every Commanding General and Admiral through WW2 understood what war required as did the leaders. Meaning what? Meaning we won wars.

Rules of engagement in war? Kill the enemy before they kill you first. Either fight them into UNCONDITIONAL Surrender or eliminate them. Anything else or any other type of war is wrong. War is hell and war should if at all possible be a last resort.

So how can we avoid war? Several ways. Surrender before it starts? Hum did Washington? Oh BTW did you know that General Washington's battle plans were considered to be barbaric and uncivilized? Gentlemen soldiers under the crown marched in formation and shot in formation. How dare the colonist hide behind trees. The same in the war of 1812.

Next option? Form a peace treaty with the threatening nation? Washington warned us of such and that is why IMO the Geneva Conventions was a major mistake for the U.S. It let others set our rules for war. No nation has that right.

How about a covert action? The least messy and costly in lives but sometimes just not practical. The last man who understood what it took to keep us out of war was Reagan. He built the most powerfull military since WW2 and it played a major role to brake the back of the Communist Soviet Union. The man who bought us most of our woes now in the M.E.? Gerald R Ford and his kindler gentler treatment of foreign thug terrorist supporting dictators having an EO protecting them from assination. Check the stats against his EO and the rise in third war terrorist attacks.

OK back on the subject. How can we stop a Cultural Civil War from happening in the United States. Note I said cultural because that is what it would be IF it happened. The only way to stop it is by strict Immigration Control. For over 30 years now that has not taken place. I'm not anti-imigration. But ones in the United States illegally now should be bused, put on a ship, etc, to their nation of origin unl;ess there is substantial risk to their life and then we have conditions to cover that.

Immigrants from all nations need to drop their I'm a name a nationality/American. You either come here to be an American and that means meeting requirements that we even place on our own children meaning learning English and America History. That is by no means being cruel. It is bring persons to this nation to be Americans and not some illegitimate form of a hyphenated culture as is going on now mainly from illegals from Mexico.

Limit the numbers per year to what our economy can tolerate. Require proper waiting times. Require health screenings. Require a renouncing of allegiance & citizenship of nation they left.

This is by no means the immigrants of what came here from Europe in the late 1800's early 1900's. Did you know that the parents of The Threee Stooges {Howard Brothers} were Romanian Immigrants? Their parents came her to be Americans. They didn't come here to start New Romania.

What I really can't understand is Republicans drooling over the prospect of opening the borders for illegals as if this is going to bring them a voting jackpot. No it's going to bring them voters {the ones that do bother} that vote in Socialist just as they did back home and not stand against the corruption of those leaders. That is why Mexico has the government it does now. They tolerate the Communist and the tyrants who simply just wish to extort and pillage their land.

Look at this also. How long before the illegals demand Affirmative Action Programs? You see this right here is why we may well see a Cultural Civil War but no one wants to mention it. How many groups and sub groups of cultures can the U.S. support via Affirmative Action Programs. I'll be blunt. When others start seeing even the low skill low paying jobs which feeds their families taken away we will see problems.

So what might happen? The current race baiting poverty pimps telling their flock that the illegals took their jobs? Or maybe this? Someone like The Nation of Islam uniting all minority cultures into one common hate? Hating who? Well, Duh who's left? To say it can't happen is foolish and niave. If any of it happens who will be fighting who and where? This won't be like the 1860's Civil War fought on Battle Fields. This will be on everystreet USA and every community as each sect grabs their piece of turf to organize whatever new nation they are going to call it.

What has help the United States Of America together besides Divine Province is the Patriotism and Union of those wishing to live under one nation of individual states joined together. I looked on TV at the protest. Persons waving Mexican and other national flags demanding we change for them is not going to set well with the common bond that formed and held this nation together. They don't want to be American Citizens they want South West USA back as part of Mexico. Read their signs!

Trying to understand the realities of what the current proposals for immigration are and the likely drastic cause and effect it can have on all Americans is not being racist it is using good old fashioned common sense. The same with an in depth look as to a possible civil war because it seems one group of people is not going to be held to the standards of others and given prefered treatment by our government.

I don't support such disasters as affirmative action as I believe it further enslaves people. I was also one of the Alan Keyes supporters in this forum in the 2000 elections. I don't care what a persons skin color or race is. My issue is why someone wants to come to the USA to live & work and will they be bound by the same standard of the laws as me?

So far illegals have had an In Your Face attitude at nearly all of our laws from border crossing, to traffic laws, to even felonies in some cases. They forget they are guest here even though they are uninvited. Can I come to your house and set the rules? You would resent it. No any smart person would toss such a demander out of their home. {Ah there's the answer right there} and tell them to come back only if and when they will act as respectable guest in which case they can be treated as family. The Mexican and other nation flag waving and demands is by no means getting them off to a good start. Many resent their arrogance and count me among them.
