I came out on a centrist, but just barely....they give the border line to Centrism...I was at the cusp of Libertarian, Conservative, and Centrist....

I tinkered with it. If you put disagree with all the personal issues and agree with all the economic ones, you are, according to this test, 100% conservative.

This is the closest I could get to being a low life Liberal: Ques 1-4 and 6 were all "A", the rest were "D"

On the Political Compass test I score:

Economic Left/Right: 1.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.56

On the first quiz I score at the upper right tip of the centrist cube. I'm quite happy with either test. The former having a somewhat coarser resolution than the latter.

I don't want to suggest they skewed the results....

O.K. I'll do it for you. The Libertarians skewed the results. This "quiz" is designed to place as many people as possible in the Libertarian camp. It is more advertisement than it is science.

I don't have anything against Libertarians or their philosophy. Without taking the quiz again (it's been posted on FR several times over the years), I know that I am more "libertarian" than "republican." I'm a conservative independant.

A perfect Liberal score is achieved by answering A to questions 1-5 and D to questions 6-10.

Question 6 is a trick to weed out crypto-liberals. Liberals indeed favor statist subsidies of business (think "Alternate Energy"). They're just selective in who they want to shovel taxpayer money towards.

Mine ...

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 30%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 90%.

I would guess my not believing in copulating in the street with anyone over 21, anytime, believing all should serve in the military, possibly rethinking the "War on drugs" , and have no aversion to a national ID card, (Hello! We're about there already!) have me a marked man.

Disagreeing with all the questions yeilds 100% Statist, agreeing with everything gives 100% libertarian

If you ask me, this is a pretty ridiculous quiz; the questions are heavily slanted towards economic issues and towards defining people as libertarian leaning centrists (which is what it defined me as).

In reality, I'm an old Buchanan brigader.

Even know I am Registered Libertarian, voted Libertarian in the past and agree with most of their ideas I will never again vote for any Libertarian again.

The reason is the Libertarian party is dishonest much like the Democrats, they conveniently omit important information to form a conclusion on a subject. For example: they used the same lines the Democrats used with the war in Iraq, “Saddam wasn’t a threat to the US thus the war is not necessary.” Anyone paying attention knew this to be a lie from its conception. They use this shallow thinking in everything they do.

I like their idea of doing away with the war on drugs. The fact today is do we lock up a murderer and/or a drug addict? It is our choice, right now we choose to lock them both up and this lowers the sentence for the murderer. Should we spend more money on boarder portals or DEA?

I just took the Political Compass test again (after a few Ice beers):

After a few Ice beers, I scored:

Economic Left/Right: 1.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.21

See what happened? I went further to the right and more Libertarian (right on the line betwixt Libertarian/Authoritarian).

I bookmarked that link several months ago, and the first time I took the test I scored pretty a la 'Gehard Schroeder'. Undoubtedly I can be classified dyed-in-the-wool Centrist (w/Libertarian/Conservative inclination). Or put into neo-Con terms: compassionate conservative. This I suppose goes in line with my perception of being a pragmatist.

If you prefer a much more detailed quiz, try the OK Cupid Politics Quiz. I believe you'll find that you score pretty much the same on the long quiz as you do on this short one.

Hey. I really liked your end-times threads. What I'd really like to see is a statistical breakdown of Freeper political ideologies.

Cool! I'm going to take it right now (of course the results will be skewed by several Ice beers).
