Simcox ultimatum to Bush: `Build fence or Minutemen will'
KVOA ^ | 4/19/2006 | none

TUCSON, Ariz. Minuteman border watch leader Chris Simcox has a message for President Bush -- build new security fencing along the border or private citizens will.

Simcox says he's also sending an ultimatum to the president to deploy military reserves and the National Guard to the Arizona border by May 25th, or Minuteman volunteers and supporters will break ground and start erecting fencing privately.

The Minuteman leader says a half-dozen landowners along the Arizona-Mexico border say they'll allow fencing to be placed on their borderlands.

Simcox says the border barrier-and-fencing complex would include a six-foot deep trench so a vehicle can't crash through.

Other features may include coiled, razor-edged barbed wire, in front of a 15-foot high heavy-gauge steel mesh fence angled outward at the top.

"One of the last remaining hopes for our failing nation are these patriots."

And here's hoping their ranks continue to expand as more loyal Americans recognize the seriousness of the illegal alien issue.

No, you won't. At that point Bush will "get tough on border enforcement" but not as we wish he would.

Pretty much correct, Bush would make a rousing speech declaring this and that just like he did with "10,00 new Border Patrol Agents." Then, nothing.

By the way and FYI for everyone, all the MCDC teams are reporting practically zero help in the form of money from Simcox. Donations go in to Simcox, nothing comes out of MCDC to the volunteers. Your contributions would probably do a LOT more if they were sent directly to Gilchrist of the Minuteman Project. Gilchrist is the Minuteman Project, Simcox is MCDC and does nothing but collect donations to MCDC. Where it goes is a guess, cause is ain't going to the Border Watch Projects or the Minuteman Project. Never has.

I believe that MANY Americans woke up to the mess when the thousands of protesters stopped traffic while waving their Mexican flags and demanding their "rights".

As my Mom used to say, they "really showed their asses". In other words, they forced their agenda right in our faces, and it was disgusting.

"Maybe we could call McCain, and get some illegal immigrants to build the wall."

McCain will help, but only if there is a guaranteed photo-op on national TV with Teddy included.

If that didn't do it, nothing will.

Nah, the "gubmint" will just use eminent domain to confiscate all the property along the U.S./Mexican border.

It won't be tax exempt, but it's a very worthwhile cause. Don't know what it'll take to make the MMP tax exempt, but I'll bet that others will fight it tooth and nail. They are too effective.

This idea sounds real familiar.

I just sent in my donation for my one foot of fencing, as pledged one week ago when I proposed we do this. Hope some others follow suit. :-)

email I received for Minuteman Fence project:

Are you like me -- sick and tired of our government's lack of action in securing our borders to stem the tide of illegal immigration?

After all, it's the primary constitutional duty of the federal government to protect our nation from invasion -- and there's no other way to describe what's happening at our wide-open borders.

It would be pretty easy to enforce national security there -- all President Bush has to do is send in the National Guard.

But he refuses to do it.

So once again, we average Americans have to do the job our government refuses to do. This time, the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) -- the volunteer "neighborhood watch" of 7,000 citizens on our nation's borders -- has announced plans to work with local Arizona land owners to build border security fencing on private land along the border with Mexico, unless troops are called in to secure the border.

You read that right -- if the feds won't do what needs to be done, the American people will do it themselves. But the Minutemen need YOUR help to get it done -- can you make a contribution today?

https://secure.responseenterprises.com/mmfence/?a=7

At present, six private land owners have partnered with the Minutemen for the commencement of construction of border fencing on their land. Surveillance cameras on the fencing will be monitored via computer by registered Minutemen across the country. They have chosen a fence design that is based on the Israeli fences in Gaza and on the West Bank that have cut terrorist attacks there by 95% or more. In order to be effective, a fence should not be easy to compromise by climbing over it with a ladder, cutting through it with wire cutters, ramming it with a vehicle, or tunneling under it undetected. No fence can be a 100% impenetrable barrier -- but a good design will be time-consuming enough to get through that Border Patrol agents can be alerted to get to a point of attempted intrusion before the intrusion can be completed. Their design does this - take a look at it here: http://www.rightmarch.com/images/fence.jpg

Chris Simcox, President of the MCDC, says those involved in the planning hope to keep costs near $150 per foot. Two construction companies to date have offered to inaugurate groundbreaking, coordinate volunteer construction crews and donate the use of the necessary heavy construction equipment.

The fencing will be built with privately donated funds, engineering and labor and will be used as an example to educate the public about the feasibility and efficacy of fencing to secure America's borders from illegal incursion by aliens and international criminal cartels. A non-profit organization dedicated specifically to this purpose will facilitate and administer donations for construction of the fence. Monetary and in-kind contributions for this effort will go directly into building materials for this private, volunteer fencing project.

The groundbreaking will begin in Arizona on Memorial Day weekend, unless in the interim President Bush deploys National Guard and reserve troops to immediately secure the out-of-control southern border.

Any bets on whether he does that?

Let's join the Minutemen and get the job done -- please help today:

Liberty Tree, Author:Thomas Paine

IN a chariot of light from the regions of day,
The Goddess of Liberty came;
Ten thousand celestials directed the way,
And hither conducted the dame.
A fair budding branch from the gardens above,
Where millions with millions agree,
She brought in her hand as a pledge of her love,
And the plant she named Liberty Tree.
The celestial exotic struck deep in the ground,
Like a native it flourished and bore;
The fame of its fruit drew the nations around,
To seek out this peaceable shore.
Unmindful of names or distinctions they came,
For freemen like brothers agree;
With one spirit endued, they one friendship pursued,
And their temple was Liberty Tree.
Beneath this fair tree, like the patriarchs of old,
Their bread in contentment they ate
Unvexed with the troubles of silver and gold,
The cares of the grand and the great.
With timber and tar they Old England supplied,
And supported her power on the sea;
Her battles they fought, without getting a groat,
For the honor of Liberty Tree.
But hear, O ye swains, 'tis a tale most profane,
How all the tyrannical powers,
Kings, Commons and Lords, are uniting amain,
To cut down this guardian of ours;
From the east to the west blow the trumpet to arms,
Through the land let the sound of it flee,
Let the far and the near, all unite with a cheer,
In defence of our Liberty Tree.
