I doubt it. This sounds like wishful thinking from Republicans.

No matter who the nominee is, the Democrats and liberals are smart enough to line up to support him/her.

And the door would be wide open for a real third party shot. A fractured dem party with H KKKlintler as its candidate vs John the “Maverick(TM)” McCain vs Obama with a totally sane person as a running mate and without the baggage of the rat party... I’d HAVE to vote for the Obama/Bloomberg ticket.

Not necessarily. If Obama/Bloomberg were to win enough states in the general election such that no one could enough electoral votes to win it, the election would go to the House of Represntatives...where Democrats would elect Hillary.

The issue is problematic for the GOP because if Obama/Bloomberg didn’t run, many voters would stay home and the GOP might do well in House & Senate races. But if they do run, all of those voters will, indeed, come out and probably vote for Dems in the House & Senate.
