I assume they mean cutting off gas supplies to Poland and the Czechs.

That sounds like a reasonable guess, but it could mean cutting off Russia's customers to the west of those countries too.

who really doubts what Undersecretary Shaw said about the WMDs being moved out to Syria by Russian special operations prior to the 2003 invasion....?

Most democrats, many moderates and even some self-described republicans. Sadly.

???

There is no war to end.. We simply use Iraq and Afghanistan as a base of operations for the feature presentation against Russia and her allies.

We are in a FAR better position to fight this war than we would have been without those 2 positions.

I’m not certain they’ll need to invade Iran.

The alternative is a hostile nuclear armed fanatical islamist jihadist state at their underbelly.

Russia has absorbed enough western money that it doesn’t need more west money to make it through the Winter. The same cannot be said of those nations dependent on Russia for energy. Glad my home is powered by micro-hydro generators. No grid required.

I don’t think that Russia is that stupid. If they decided to provoke us to war, we would crush them. Their one advantage is that their populace can handle serious casualties, while ours generally cannot.

Russia signed an missile agreement with Syria.

I'm sooooo sure Israel is terrified after the Russian anti-aircraft batteries worked so well during Israel's bombing of Syria's nuke facility last September.

I've been wondering about that - where is the Left on this whole thing, I mean were do they stand on this?

Their position is that it's all Bush's fault, because Putin is a Bush/Cheney puppet. Yes, I've actually seen that as a comment. (Not on DU, though. Give them time.)

After that they they start getting irrational.

Yep, we fiddled with the UN for 6 months trying to get them to enforce their own resolutions against Iraq, all the while the Russians are cleaning out Iraq via Syria.

Why are you assuming Russia would go against their own precedent and hit Iran? They are aligned WITH Iran.

Glad I am a disaster preparedness freak and live upwind of every US nuke target. No worries except what to do when the football usually comes on.

"Have they blocked access to the space station yet?"

They can't, yet; but as soon as we retire the shuttle they can do whatever they want and/or charge whatever they want for access.

“We are in a FAR better position to fight this war than we would have been without those 2 positions”

No we are not. We don’t have the resources... the men, equipment, etc. Nor the will.

We are stretched too thin to fight three wars.
