Grand jury hands down three new (FLDS) sect indictments

A Schleicher County grand jury today handed down three new felony indictments in the state's polygamist sect investigation, a court clerk said.

Schleicher County District Clerk Peggy Williams said the indictments involve three individuals. It's unclear whether those individuals are new defendants or suspects already charged in the probe.

The identities of those individuals were not immediately available. Neither were the actual charges listed in the indictments.

The grand jury last month indicted six members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Court hearings for those individuals is scheduled for Sept. 8, authorities said.

The grand jury plans to reconvene on Sept. 23, Williams said.

Sect spokesman Willie Jessop was one of six witnesses subpoenaed today. When asked about his testimony, Jessop told reporters: "We certainly believe there is a God. We believe he will judge all. Those who judge will be judged themselves."

In related action today, a case involving Lloyd Barlow, a physician at the sect's YFZ compound near Eldorado, was transferred to the Schleicher County court system. He is facing three charges of failing to report child abuse, a misdemeanor. He was among the six members of FLDS indicted last month.

Do you know which one is Barbara?

I think she is the one who henpecks Merril.

LOL on the HUGE slices of orange on the glasses! Is that sophisticated in the FLDS world? LOL

It won’t be easy to get a conviction.

I remember someone saying, several months back, that the FLDS strategy involved ‘knowing’ exactly what it took to get a conviction, and how best to beat it.

It is certainly going to remain an uphill battle for the state of Texas (CPS and LE).

I was just wondering that myself. And I wonder if she's the Barbara in this 2006 story:

A 3-year-old boy was killed and another child was injured Thursday when a minivan they were riding in crashed on a ranch owned by polygamist sect led by Warren Jeffs.

Allen Rulon Jeffs was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and 3-year-old Richard Rulon Jeffs was in critical condition Thursday night. Isaac Steed Jeffs Jr., 3, and the driver, Barbara Joy Jessop, were treated and released, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported Friday.

It was unclear whether the victims were related to Warren Jeffs, who has been arrested on charges of forcing a teenage girl to enter a spiritual marriage with an older man. His attorney has said Jeffs believes the case is religious persecution.

A news release from the Schleicher County Sheriff's Department said the minivan hit a boulder while traveling on a gravel road in Eldorado, about 190 miles northwest of San Antonio.

The boys were not wearing seat belts, Sheriff David Doran said. No charges are expected, Sheriff David Doran said.

I would like to be on your FLDS ping list.

Since you are new to the FLDS ping list, you might like a little background information on the Principle.

I strongly recommend you visit the Utah Attorney General's web page on polygamy HERE for more information. You should read the AG's Primer on polygamy (there is a link to the pdf document at the bottom of the first paragraph) with the understanding it is emotionally disturbing.

There is an excellent video (approximately 90 minutes long) on polygamy HERE. It is well worth the watch in my opinion. Incidentally, the sponsor provides copies of the DVD without charge to LDS members.

JRochelle - Good news! More pervs being indicted.

From the article, "It's unclear whether those individuals are new defendants or suspects already charged in the probe."

This is what I love about you cabal members. You never let little things like facts or evidence get in the way of your beliefs : ) You only see what you want to see, it is called cognitive dissonance.

If you have children JRochelle, I think that I could make a very good case that you are abusing your children if you are teaching them your beliefs : )

I read an article that said the girl who was sent back to foster care cried for 7 straight hours and clung to her mother. But the pro raid/pro roundup FReepers seem to care only about getting some kind of revenge. It is so odd to me how some FReepers have changed, seemingly overnight, from defenders of the Constitution to people who single out FLDS for extinction, Constitution be danged. Very strange indeed.

By the way, only one child has been sent back to foster care. What does that tell you?

That they acted improperly in the other 363 cases when they kidnapped the women and children?

By the way, the children have never seen a dog. What does that tell you?

“Belts are required ONLY on Public Roads.”

I was thinking the same thing.

However, it does give credence to the thought that when it comes to being ON the FLDS property, rules are discarded, even if they would protect the lives of children.

Wonder if the LDS defenders of the cult on FR requested a copy? Naw....
