"This is as bad as I've ever seen it," said Victor Moore, the governor's budget director.

Growth in state tax revenues have fallen sharply...

Washington State has no state income tax.

“Growth in state tax revenues have fallen sharply in recent months “

Have you ever noticed that they will never tell you what the state revenue numbers look like? They never say ‘Revenues were $X last year and $X this year’

At the end of the article:
The current two-year general fund budget is $33.6 billion. State spending has increased by $8 billion since Gregoire was elected governor in 2004. ...

The Dims are running the City, County and state. Property taxes up 35%, property values down 15%.

The ferry system is broke, and mis managed. Then there were the million dollar auto toilets sold on EBay for $24, cause they were dens for drug dealers. Somebody is shooting the woodpeckers on Queen Ann Hill, and PETA is upset. The Sea Lions are eating all the Salmon, and the whales are going hungry.

But hey, it is now legal to kill ourselves.

California bankrupt with a RINO gov. WA bankrupt with a Dem gov and OR is right behind them. The entire west coast will be bankrupt soon. But not Alaska!

and add in Michigan...
I don’t know if they are a bankrupt Democrat-rule state yet...
but (if I understand it correctly), they’ve drained their unemployment
and have been tapping the Federal support fund for empty state funds.

I’d love to see Obama appoint Gov. Granholm to a Dept. of Treasury position.
Except she’d bankrupt the country faster than Obama alone.

Nice timing. I'm sure no one knew this BEFORE re-electing Gregoire.

My daughter moved to Washington from Oregon and bought a townhouse in Seatac and is a young-adult librarian in a large public library. With the real estate situation and the state funds in the crapper, I wonder how long her job will last? Only been there a year or so.

Well, she is a liberal and wanted to live in "Liberal Mecca" so I suppose we'll how that'll work out for her?

Looks like about a 25% increase to me. Don't these morons in govco. know anything but spend, spend, spend?

Lets do the math:

California: $12 billion / 36.5 million = $328 per person
Washington: $5 billion / 6.5 million = $769 per person
Oregon: $1.3 billion/ 3.7 million = $351 per person

Ugh! We are worse off than either Cali or Oregon!
