But would it really?... I'm not sure what it would prove, but the coolness factor makes it a must-do.

Think of all the possibilities! I’m sure KFC is involved. :)

“Would a Reverse-engineered Chicken Demonstrate Evolution?”
Evolutionary science is in a unique position of having to be researched and perhaps someday being demonstrated in a lab and yet hold to the assumption that all this could happen naturally by random chance.

I’m not sure I’d like to reverse engineer chickens. The result might be both scary and prolific...

I suppose you could disassemble a tractor trailer, cut up a few parts and make a bicycle. Two conclusions you could draw from that effort:
1) that the bicycle is the ancestor of the tractor trailer and that given enough time, it would morph into one
2) that both the bicycle and the tractor trailer were designed by something or someone.

The have already done it.. turning genes back on that produce “beak teeth”, long bony tails, and other prehistoric (raptor) genetic traits.

A few years ago a Hooiser chicken farmer attempted to raise 3-legged chickens for KFC.

Would a Reverse-engineered Chicken Demonstrate Evolution? No, but it would prove (semi)intelligent design

My faith in God isn't affected one iota by the theory of evolution.
God is omnipotent, all powerful and created everything. That is what makes him GOD.
I can wait to hear the details later, direct from the source.

that chickens could be genetically engineered backwardwould it still want to cross the road?

In Morgan City, LA, I once had deep-fried alligator at a chicken chain store (franchise), maybe it was a "Popeye's", can't exactly recall...
If this reverse (genetic) engineering were to work, there'd be no need to choose between chicken, or 'gator. It could all be a chicken-gator type of critter...not sure if that's such a good thing, but I might try it, at least once. After you have, of course...
[just trying to be polite, heh-heh]
