Correction: When the sun goes silent (i.e. magnetically/sunspot-wise), MORE GALACTIC COSMIC RAY energy hits earth and more clouds are made. It's when the Sun is acting up (sunspot-wise) that less galactic cosmic rays reach earth and less low-lying cooling-effect clouds form. At least that's how the theory goes. Thanks a lot for the ping. :)
It would seem then, if an agitated, spotty sun is thwarting the arrival of the heavy nuclei that normally make for cooling clouds, we ought to be able to fix that little problem ourselves with a substitute source of these nuclei if we consider it desirable to dial the earth’s thermostat down.
The upshot: global warming, IF it brings the kind of disasters that Gore has been all upset about (and nobody has proved it will) is no longer a bugaboo. We can now burn all the clean coal we want.
