A Muslim soldier, Nidal Hasan, shot dead 12 soldiers and a civilian at Fort Hood yesterday, shouting the Muslim expression "Allahu Akbar." But in an absurd display of political correctness, media reports barely mentioned the religion angle, choosing instead to highlight the fact that the killer was an "army psychiatrist" or the false claim that he was a veteran with PTSD (which he wasn't: he never even served overseas). Oh, those violent psychiatrists!
Now, we read that he had previously said that Muslims should rise up against the military, "repeatedly expressed sympathy for suicide bombers," and engaged in hate-speech against non-Muslims, publicly calling for the beheading or burning of non-Muslims, and talking "about how if you’re a nonbeliever the Koran says you should have your head cut off, you should have oil poured down your throat, you should be set on fire." But nothing was done to remove him from a position where he could harm others...
...in the military, soldiers get punished for bigotry all the time -- except for this guy. The courts have held that hate-speech or speech that "discriminatorily harasses" others can generally be criminally punished in the military, unlike in the outside world, and accordingly, white supremacists get disciplined for their views. (So, too, do soldiers who express disloyalty to their country or merely contempt for their Commander in Chief.) But not this soldier, who was more dangerous than your typical white supremacist...

It is they who need to own to the fact that "Allahu Akbar" would likely cause more panic if shouted in a crowded theater than yelling "fire" -- and for good reason.
NO WAY. I am amazed to discover this after reading just a few reports, admittedly, where this was not even mentioned.
The media made an all out blitz stating ad nauseum that he was an army psychiatrist and didn't want to go back to Iraq or Afghanistan (they didn't know which one, though) and had some kind of stress disorder. Can you imagine the reporting if the killer was a white male Republican?

Pretty good article, but Muslims should not be allowed to infiltrate the US military simply because some of ‘em speak Pashto or Urdu. But yes, political correctness is literally killing us!

This is the clearest case of political correctness causing bloodshed in recent memory.
Just so everyone knows, the Fort Hood base commander verified this to be fact in a news conference.The shooter did indeed yell," Alahu Akbar."
The body count from political correctness keeps growing and growing and ……
That isn't quite right. The cause of the bloodshed was a radical Islamic pulling a gun and shooting. The motive was Islam. The enabler was Political Correctness.

The military did nothing, and the FBI did nothing, although they’ve known about his terrorist ravings for at least 6 months.
When this guy began to spew about what ought to happen to infidels, nobody cared; but if a Christian officer should let slip that homosexuals ought to repent, it seems it’s time to kick him out the door if not also charge him with hate crimes. We are sick of these double standards.
Yes, the double standard and PC led to the deaths of innocent soldiers.
The double standard allows fanatical terrorists to grow in hate without being challenged, and when they actually hurt someone, the double standard finds excuses for them.
But what really angers me is that people who WRITE or SPEAK about it will be subject to harassment, while the people who HURT or KILL humans will be given a free pass.
The soldiers were innocent lambs sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.
Mass deportations.
