A warning that climate change will melt most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2035 is likely to be retracted after a series of scientific blunders by the United Nations body that issued it.
Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the worlds glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035.
In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCCs 2007 report.

They took the data out of a news story ? They never even called to ask the attributed source if he actually said it, let alone if there was actually data behind it ?
This is science so sloppy it doesn't even approach the level of grade-schoolers.
And these guys made how much per year ?

I spent many months in the Himalayas around Everest 1997 thru 2000. There is significantly more ice today then there was then.

It’d be great if you could share pictures with us. Some of those places are stunning.

It's not just sloppy science, it's no science at all!
Meaning that there is no scientifically proven way to predict future climate changes, excepting the obvious probability that it will continue to change.
So in the absence of any empirically sound method of predicting climate change, these 'climate scientists' stoop to things as silly as referencing a mere opinion about melting glaciers, package and sell it as 'science'.
Maybe 'seance' would be a better description of how they come by their opinions.

Maybe 'seance' would be a better description of how they come by their opinions. Good one! LOL! That's exactly what this mumbo jumbo BS is really all about!

I would incorporate it into my tagline, but I like the one I’ve got.

Dang, they run a tight ship at the IPCC.

I read the article at climatedepot.com a few days back. This plus the new announcements that so much within NASA regarding measurement techniques, worthiness of the very satellite systems being utilized, the modification of raw data, omission of data etc., brings it to the point, no honest and realistic body of scientist, engineers, chemist, physicists, climatology, geologist, etc., should put any faith in the totally useless data and interpretations that have been the long assumed to represent solid scientific investigation.
Let me be the first to suggest. The right Hollywood producer, a true neutral who is patriotic and fair, or similar attributes in a more conservative, get a carefully selected team together and put one hell of a solid movie together. Call it ClimateGate or say the LIE. A solid team of peer recognized scientist would very carefully guide what should go into the film from a scientific viewpoint. Call in Lord Mockley to participate and find the very best narrator. Someone who's voice would resonate to the crowds. Show all the shit Al Gore's film to be total bullshit. Show much of what has been exposed starting in November of this last year onward.
It could be a block buster and cost little to create. For it needs no props. All is done in the studio with computer readouts and copies of so much that is already on the Internet.
It could hog tie Zero for the next three years as well as all the other UN and other goons that want to steal the world's working population of their money on false pretenses.
Anyone know of such a producer that could bring such a movie to fruition.

Great idea,...but my first thought is it won’t happen.....Hollywood wouldn’t support it.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Understand. Was just a thought. Of course it does not have to come out of Hollywood.
